Each event included on the tour was amazing and Georgie was an INCREDIBLE guide!! An icon, if you will! So so worth investing a day in while you’re on holiday. You’ll remember this forever.
What a great day we had with Geoff! He picked us up promptly and got to know us as we set off for Berwick. Geoff gave clear directions, made sure everyone was taken care of, and even went it off his way to find us Highland Coos on the way back. We saw puffins and gannets, and had plenty of time to explore the town and castle. Small group expressive was what made us chose Scotlands Wild and we are excited to travel with them again on the 3 day Isle of Skye tour in 2 days.
Georgy was a fantastic tour guide. She was friendly and very informative. She was also polite and patient. She gave historical facts. The Tantallon castle is a must see, and the town of New Berwick was neat! We were able to see the tufted puffins as well as seals and other birds.
We went on the Puffin Tour. Easy to book with the Operator and we were kept fully informed prior to the trip with reminder emails and WhatsApp. Meeting point was easy to find and Georgie, our guide was extremely friendly and welcoming. The boat tour took us very close to the islands so we could see all the different seabirds. My only disappointment was this was sold as a puffin trip. Although we saw them they were very elusive and flew off as soon as we approached and needed binoculars to effectively see them. These were not suggested or provided. There were plenty of other seabirds but I think this should be renamed as seabird viewing trip as we specifically booked to see the puffins. Tanallon Castle was a good location to visit especially as we could get to the top of the castle to enjoy the views
Overall the trip was good and the driver was very good. However, at the castle, the tour company notified the driver that the Puffin boat ride portion was canceled with no explanation. Since that was the main part of the tour we are waiting to see about a refund.
Overall it was very good , Matt was our guide and was wonderful. Got to see many sea birds even saw a whale. I learned a lot about Scotland
We went on the Puffins and Tantallon Castle day trip. Our tour guide Matt was fantastic. He was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable, keeping us both informed and emtertained throughout the day. The boat trip round Bass Rock was incredible. Again, the woman who was the guide on the boat shared a wealth of knowledge with us about the seabirds and the history of the rock itself. The castle was amazing. On the journey there, Matt gave us a little bit of the history of the castle so we understood its significance. Accessing the top and looking down over the view was definitely worth the climb! Matt looked after us really well, making sure we were all happy throughout the day. He even took a photo of my friend and me at the castle and gave us all a great Scottish treat - a teacake!
The Scottish Seabird Centre tour to the Isle of May was an incredible experience - but what really made the difference was our tour guide, Kevin. He's extremely knowledgeable, funny, a great speaker, truly the best at what he does. You can tell how much he loves what he does, and his knowledge about this land runs deep. Everything from the birds to the rocks to the people - Kevin was always able to explain things with passion and energy. He has a gift. Towards the end of the day, after he realized I had a passion for geology, he was kind enough to give me a quick solo tour of the rocks I could see in the North Berwick harbour, and I learned so much. If you're lucky enough to have Kevin as your tour guide for your Isle of May landing, you are a lucky soul indeed! -Mika
I absolutely loved this experience. Even with it. Being late in the season, I was able to see puffins and so much more. Our guide, Perry, was exceptional. He clearly loves his country and sharing it with those on his tours. I would book with this company again without hesitation.
Tour guide, Mark, gave wonderful information on sites and Scotland culture and history. A fantastic tour. He had a great personality and the entire trip was excellent. We highly recommend this trip.
