We had the opportunity to meet Cristina during our visit to Puerto Plata, and she was a fantastic guide, becoming our point of reference for our first excursion in the Caribbean, allowing us to visit the city and the sea. We would choose her another 1000 times. So we recommend contacting her for your excursions!
Awesome experience! Edgar is very professional & stays with your group every step of the way! Truly a private tour in a air conditioned van. Edgar does pick up & drop offs from the cruise port. Would book again! Highly recommend ❤️
We had an amazing day with our tour guide, Elvis! Edgar Private Tours definitely exceeded our expectations. The communication was great before the tour and we had an amazing day with our guide ! Highly recommend!
Try to book early during the day as some venues close early on weekends. The transportation provided was clean and comfortable. Jose, our tour guide was very friendly.
I had to message Edgar about taking a mobility scooter. Very accommodating and helpful. Responded quickly. Our driver Adrian was very friendly, gave lots of facts and history of the island.
Francisco and Jose were very friendly and helpful. Our ship was delayed getting into port, but they waited for us. Francisco was very knowledgeable about the history of Puerta Plata. My wife was dealing with a knee issue and was slow moving, but Francisco was patient and assisted her with getting into and out of the van. There were a couple of places we were not interested in visiting. He did not insist, but rather than offering substitutes, the tour was cut short for the same price. We were supposed to visit a jewelry factory. The owner pretended the two men in the ‘factory’ made all the pieces by hand. This was staged as the same pieces were available all over the island. Also there’s no way the two guys could make the hundreds of duplicate pieces using the primitive tools they pretended to use. It was a staged sales presentation. The next stop was a chocolate shop where we were supposed to learn how the chocolate was made. We did get to sample chocolate. But Again, it was a sales presentation that ended in a store where there was pressure to purchase. The town square tour was interesting but it costs extra to tour the inside of the fort and time did not permit. The Mountain View’s were nice but again we were approached by sales people selling their wares. This was a good tour, but not worth what we paid. Nothing special except the fact it was private.
If you want to visit Puerto Plata and take a tour in Italian, Cristina is the right person! City tour and beach with loungers and umbrellas! We also visited the shadow museum, always included in the price.
It was a very nice tour. Edgar was very accommodating and cognizant of the physical limitations of part of our group.
Edgar was amazing!! His tour was outstanding. He took us to see the wonderful parts of Puerta Plata which included a visit to a fort, rum distillery and walked us through the streets to see other sights. He allowed the time and space to enjoy these sights. I would highly recommend booking this!! Our day ended with a nice lunch at a restaurant and a gift from Edgar. This was my FAVORITE excursion.
Carlos was fabulous! Great information, very kind, Carlos had a literary but was fully adaptable to other suggestions.
