Great way to learn about Brunei and see the sights of the capital from the water. We also saw the elusive Proboscis monkeys on the river.
Picked up promptly at 8.30am with short drive to boat. Drove through mangroves seeing crocodiles and a number of probosis monkeys in the trees. Finished with a drink snack in a water house. Guide and boat driver excellent. Great trip
We really enjoyed our tour to see the monkeys. Our guide was able to find several groups of monkeys and we got some great photos.
We left our hotel at 7am and it was the best call because we were on the river before the group tours and the late private tours, so it felt calm, quiet, and special. We were one of only two boats out there. We spotted around 10 proboscis monkeys, grey monkeys, tons of birds, and even a crocodile. Our guide and captain were warm, knowledgeable, and made us feel completely safe. The boat was clean, comfortable, and well kept. Such a fun, peaceful experience and totally worth it.
This was an amazing experience to travel on a small boat along the river, taking in the beautiful jungle and spotting wildlife. We were fortunate to see Proboscis monkeys at a distance, though I understand this is not guaranteed. We also saw Macaques, a variety of birds, and even a baby crocodile. My guide was excellent, very knowledgeable on Brunei's landmarks and the best spots to see wildlife. Overall I would strongly recommend this trip for any nature lovers who have a spare few hours in Brunei.
It was a trip that made my son, a first-year junior, realize the diversity of the world. Our guide, HIKARU, explained it to us in a gentle and pleasant manner throughout. Life jacket is also secure. They were full of tengu monkeys and showed me scenes of mothers with babies, naughty little monkeys and eating leaves. He pulled me close enough to shoot in cinematic mode on the iphone15Pro. One crocodile, a kingfisher, a Bruneian flower, a mangrove forest, etc. It was an interesting place. I am proud to say that I was able to find a Tengu monkey before my guide only once. It's a 7am hotel pickup, but I think that's probably the better chance of encountering it. Viator app, but the messaging function is generally OK. Like the Dart app, it would be easier to send a quick photo of the meeting place.
Excellent boat trip to see proboscis monkeys hiding in the mangrove trees. The guide and the boat operator were super helpful to spotting the monkeys and putting the boat in good locations to photograph the monkeys.
I loved this boat trip, to see the spectacular scenic beauty of the wilderness along the Brunei River. my tour guide was Mohammad Effendi, and his buddy who drove the boat, and were able to spot the elusive proboscis monkeys who live in the forests. We were able to see two females, and one large alpha male who had a large red nose and a protuberant belly. This is a highly recommended tour wile in Brunei. The proboscis monkeys can only be found in the island of Borneo.
Couldn’t recommend this boat tour enough. The guide was extremely knowledgeable, funny and super friendly. This combined with the nature on offer in Brunei made those few hours completely unforgettable. 10/10.
Departure from Rybaka Bay in Brisbane is a two-hour excursion to see the wild-growing monkey. We visited in April and departed at 8:30 a.m., the weather was hot. See about ten long-nose monkeys in the distance.
