Our original booking was cancelled as we were told the original tour operator had a family commitment so i changed the date to a day earlier. Recieved a message a few days before the tour saying the original tour operator will now see us on the original day we booked and not the date we just amended it to. Later that night they message us saying to do the tour a little earlier as Haji has a family event after the tour. Just change after change. The day of the tour, some other man came instead of Haji and boy can i tell you, he is a talker. I felt like he was also a paid government representative because of how much he loved the King of Brunei and how good Brunei is. I am talking 6 hours non stop of talking and he doesn't even let you ask any questions and when you do try, he cuts you off rudely or just speaks over you. Then when it matters most, you want to take photos and videos and he rushes you to move on with him and says we will have time to take photos but we never did. I never felt like cancelling an ongoing tour until this tour, that's how frustrating this tour was because of this guide. I had the biggest headache after this tour, i didn't need a lecture about how great the Sultan is, i just wanted a guide to show us around with a brief summary and we take the photos and videos and move on when we are done. Most tour guides take us a destination in the itenery, do a brief explanation, let us wonder, take photos and then when we are done wither by a set time or at our own will, we move on. This is how this tour should be like the 100s of other tours we have done. This is a supposed to be a private tour, at our own pace but the tour operator only dictated the pace.
I came to the airport at 45 meeting point even though I decided to meet later. When I tried to contact the tour company, the indicated contact phone was not connected. The actual company was a different company, called Botuneoguide tour.
Unfortunately my tour war cancelled just 12-14 hours before the beginning without letting me know. The guide still doesn’t answer me. Thanks Viator staff for their help. Some of my plans concerning Brunei was ruined.
The tour was very interesting and varied. Our tour guide was very pleasant and patient with us. He explained everything wonderfully to us and we could get to know Brunei even better with him. The boat trip, the visit to the Water Village, the mosques and also the museum must be seen. It all fit beautifully.
Guide was polite and helpful. Arrived right in time. I liked boat trip through water village and monkey photo-hunting. I am upset about Viator price policy: solo tourists should pay for 2 pax. This is comment to Viator, probably will not chose trips from here anymore as I was charged double price several times despite the fact I am traveling alone.
My local tour guide was the best that I ever seen in my last year of travelling. Very informative cooperative explained all aspects history geography, details about culture , about animals , food , people . In half day I felt as if been in Brunei for long time . Grace is a great asset to the tourism in Bander Sari Begawan
Amazing tour that covers the essentials of BSB and also takes you to the water village, where you can enjoy a coffee and snacks at one of the villagers' house. The guide has a lot of background information on the country's history and culture. Absolutely recommendable experience!
There was so much information and so many sights! Wear good shoes, bring rain gear just in case (we didn't need it, but you never know) our guide, Faisal, was very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly.
The tour operator did a good job taking me to the locations and answering questions. I gave a 4 rating because what you will experience is pretty bland.
Wonderful sights and sounds in Brunei. Not a tourist destination, so very quiet and peaceful. Rich in history and very worth visiting. Seeing the extremely rare proboscis monkeys was a true gift. Guide was superb and knowledgeable. Highly recommend it!
