Great experience and would use again! We had two children under 3yo with us and they were able to modify the Vitosha hike trip to be fun and manageable with our little ones. Our guide was great and spoke excellent English. He really ensured we enjoyed our time and was very knowledgeable about the mountain. Pick up and drop off were on time and the car was great. They were very responsive to our inquiries and questions. Really a great experience end to end.
We went on a hike on the side of a wooded mountain. We were under the impression we might get some equipment for this - we did get the hiking sticks but no rain coats. Our visit to Bulgaria was through a mystery holiday so we had no idea where we were going, hence not packing any rain jackets. Our tour guide was friendly and gave us an option of hiking at the top of the mountain where there could have been snow but it was windy and raining that day, or the wooded hike. The hike itself was ok, the weather and temperatures probably made it a little worse. Our tour guide also picked us up from our hotel which was really useful and dropped us off after.
Hello Megan, thanks for your review. For the first time ever we see a review rating of a mountain trip to be only affected by the weather as in your case. We always provide hiking sticks but for your equipment like mountain shoes, jackets and so on you are solely responsible as you understand. We have no idea of your mystery holiday because the only booking we had with you is this one. You need to ask the company which organized the mystery holiday for you. This activity picked you up form your accommodation with a private vehicle and the guide, made you the hike and drove you back and we did all that with the quality quality standards. All the best with your travels.
We had a great day in the mountains with our guide Tosho. The Black Peak hike was reasonably strenuous, especially near the top when we were walking on snow. The views and sense of an achievable were amazing though! We walked for about 2hours uphill, had a break in the cafe at the top, and the walk down took about an hour. Tosho was a great guide and shared many stories with us. We stopped off at a monastery on the way back to Sofia. Thoroughly recommend this trip!
I had last minute changes in the plan and team worked hard to meet the needs of, guide was an awesome guy too , will be using them in the future when in the town next time
Our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. Because the lift is not running the police close the road up the mountain after a certain number of cars each day. Our guide, knowing this, contacted us to leave earlier and we arrived be for the road closed and before the trail was busy.
Had a great day exploring Vitosha mountain, really great views from the top of black peak! great hike with a really lovely guide! Thank you for a lovely experience
This is a really good walk. Nice views it is a challenging walk but well worth it Stefan our tour guide he was fantastic nice honey and lemon tea before we set off to the mountain definitely wear walking boots
We had a great time at our private tour with Petya! She picked us up and dropped us off at our accommodation. Hotel “Moreni” was the starting point for our hike to the summit Black Peak (Cherni Vruh). It was four of us- 2 adults, 11 yo and a 9yo. The hike was about 7mi (approximately 11 km) on a moderate uphill. Our kids did great. We walked through the bedrock formation Moreni and even enjoyed some snowy patches in the hot day. The views from the summit were stunning. It was an easy hike. It took us about 4 hours for the round trip. We’re very happy with our experience! Thank you!
cool cool trip we got up the mountain and good guides can only be recommended have hiked quite a bit in Austria, but this can also determine something
Really great guided walk with knowledgeable and experienced local mountaineer, it was tough at the start, steep ascent but worth it, beautiful scenery and panoramas, really recommend it!
