Description
Get a taste and feel of Bergen with a litte extra on this 4-hour city sightseeing tour run by a professional driver-guide in a comfortable car. We will be stopping at the main sights in the centre of Bergen. We will also visit some of the sights and museums located outside city centre. There are 4 options that you can choose from. Please, see the tour delails. Car on this tour is one of our Mercedes minivans. When only 3 people are going on this tour, we may use our Tesla Model X. Itinerary
Your private English speaking driver-guide picks you up at your hotel in Bergen centre and your tour begins. First part of the excursion gives you an introduction to Bergen’s centre: we start this tour off with a funicular ride to Mount Fløyen (1050 feet ASL / 320 meters ASL) to literally have an overview of the city's centre.
After the funicular we go on an excursion drive to the main sights, like the medieval Bergenhus fortress, Bryggen embankment, the Hanseatic quarters, the Fish market, the National Theatre, which are all located in the centre of Bergen and are worth stopping by and learning their history. On the second part of this tour, you have several options to choose from, depending on your interests and preferences. During a 4-hour tour we can offer following choices:
Option 1: A trip to Edvard Grieg’s museum and villa Troldhaugen, where the great composer lived and worked (entrance tickets required).
On our way back to Bergen centre, we will make a short stop at Fantoft stave church – a wooden church biult in a typical style on Norwegian medieval wooden architecture (entrance tickets required).

On our way back to Bergen centre, we will make a short stop at the Royal residence in Bergen – Gamlehaugen, where the King and the Royal family stays when they are visiting Bergen (no entrance to the house).
Option 3. A trip to the Old Bergen museum – a town inside a town. The museum consists of over 40 wooden buildings from 18th and 19th centuries. We will visit the old bakery, drug store, old dentist's office, a sailor’s home, the party house, an old school and other quaint houses (entrance tickets required).
Option 4. None of the above and something special. Your driver-guide would like to know your interests and what you would like to see and visit. Maybe finding great photo opprtunities around the city, or taking the cable car to Mount Ulriken and a short hike to the top of Bergen's tallest mountain – 2109 feet ASL (643 meters ASL). We can decide on spot and make it a unique experience.

We can start this tour whenever you like (as long as we are available and the attractions that you'd like to visit are open). Your private driver-guide meets you at the lobby of your hotel in Bergen centre, or at the gate of your cruise ship terminal or at your private address in Bergen. We pick up from ALL HOTELS in Bergen city centre area.

Vlad took us on a private tour for 4 hours with 2 friends. It was fabulous! We went to many fascinating places and Vlad gave us thorough explanations that added to the enjoyment of what we were seeing. Unfortunately, we toured on a Monday and several museums were closed but we went anyway and made a few tours from the exterior for free with valuable background information from Vlad. (Edvard Grieg’s home and the Gamle Bergen Museum, for example) We would gladly tour with Vlad again. He was personable, friendly, energetic, and so very knowledgeable! Excellent tour! Vlad picked us up at the cruise terminal and drove us around Bergen while sharing his knowledge with us. This tour is a great option and covers many key spots around Bergen. At the end we asked Vlad to drop us off at the historic shops and we walked back to the ship.

We had a 4 hour private city tour with Vlad. He was on time and in a nice Mercedes Benz van. Vlad was very knowledgeable about Bergen and showed us many interesting sites. He even took our pictures at several places. I highly recommend Vlad for your city tour of Bergen!!
