Itinerary
Leave the old fishing village of Virpazar through a narrow little canal enclosed with willows and reeds. Head left, under the bridge, and discover the remains of the centuries-old fortress Lesendro. Observe cormorants, herons, gulls, coots, and kingfishers - among many others. Challenge your luck and look for the pelicans - these rare birds are at the official Lake Skadar National park logo.
Known as Bishops' Sorrow, this fortress carries a profound historical legacy, dating back to the reign of Petar II Petrović-Njegoš, a prominent figure in Montenegro's past. Strategically positioned, it once served as a safeguard against potential enemy threats. Today, Lesendro and its surroundings draw birdwatching enthusiasts to its diverse ecosystem. Cormorants, herons, and gulls are just a glimpse of the vibrant birdlife awaiting discovery.
Pass near the Morača River - an International Birding Area and head for the three nearby islands.
Discover the enchanting nature of Montenegro and the Amazonian vibes it holds as you continue your tour to three wild islands. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery, where the delicate dance of white and yellow water lilies forms an endless carpet across the water. The expansive, dark green leaves gently float between them, creating a captivating tapestry that will leave you breathless.
Swim in the fresh, deep-blue waters of Lake Skadar with a beautiful backdrop of mountain ranges and typical Montenegrin countryside. Enjoy the views on your return journey with a cup of local wine and take one last deep breath of the lake's tranquillity before returning to Virpazar.

We had an amazing time with Alex and Baki on the tour of Lake Skadar. They were both really friendly and informative and the lake was beautiful, it was one of the highlights of our holiday. I would thoroughly recommend this boat trip, thanks guys
A calm experience, well explained by the captain, and Alex, very smiling and attentive, answers all the questions, well done.
A wonderful moment on Lake Skadar! A big thank you to Alex and Baki for their hospitality, kindness, and professionalism. The tour was magnificent, with stunning landscapes and many interesting explanations about the region. They made this experience even more enjoyable with their good humor and attention to detail. I highly recommend it! Thank you again, Alex and Baki! 😊
The lake is beautiful with little in the way of human impact. Saw pelicans and large areas of lilies. We were offered a chance to swim, but weren't aware this was an option on the trip so didn't have any swim kit with us.
This boat tour was such a unique experience! Thinking we had booked a standard group tour, we were very surprised to learn that it was accidentally booked as a private tour...and we are so glad about our mistake! Having Daniel, our guide, all to ourselves enabled us to have great conversations with him. Not only did we learn about the lake, history, and unique wildlife, but also a lot about his life and the culture and traditions of Montenegrin people. We had a great time on this tour!
We had the best time on our boat tour with Alex and Nicolai , who were so friendly , pointed out interesting nature and historical facts for us. The scenery throughout the whole trip is honestly out of this world. We would a hundred percent recommend this experience!!
Lake Skadar is beautiful and worth the trip from the port. We enjoyed being out on the water in a wooden boat but unfortunately our guide spent most of his time on his cell phone. It was more like a boat ride rather than a "tour" - and we had to ask questions and then he would answer but rarely did he give us any information about the NP or the area on his own. That was really disappointing especially after paying more for a private tour.
11/10 private boat tour - The best day we had in Montenegro Everybody was so nice on our guide (I think he was called Yago ? ) was amazing ! We saw a lot of birds, had a really nice swim in the Lake and the wine was really good Thanks you for very nice memories
Absolutely brilliant trip! Our guide Alex and the captain were very professional and good fun. There are so many boat companies to choose from in Virpazar - I would recommend this one definitely. We also did the 2 hour bird watching tour which was very good and the captain took us to different parts of the lake that we hadn't seen the day before.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're delighted that Alex and the captain made your trips both professional and fun. It’s great to hear you enjoyed both the sightseeing and bird watching tours with us. We truly appreciate your recommendation! Best regards, Milica, Kingfisher team
Baki was very professional and friendly guide on the boat and the tour and the views were beautiful. I enjoyed it very much and recommend this tour.
