- In Rome Vans are better than Buses: Van = up to 8 seats, Bus = from 9 to 50 seats. Note that Buses are not allow in the historical areas of Rome (official ship excursions from Cruise Companies are operated with Buses). This mean that the Bus will drop you off and you will walk for the entire duration of the tour (6/7 hours) to the other side of town at the end of the tour to be picked up. Best Viator’s Rome excursions are with private Vans. Bus in Rome has only a small number of authorized spaces dedicated to pickup/dropoff travellers so, usually, during the city tour you had to walk for about 4/6 miles. In a big group chance are that you'll have to wait much longer for people lingering at the sights and stand in line longer for the toilets or at the snack counter. You will also have much less one on one time with your driver and guide or time to ask questions, because you'll have to share them with a lot more people.
- Vans and their drivers will be at your complete disposal for the entire duration of the tour and can take you and stop where Buses cannot go, very close to all attractions, you will walk definitely less and see more!
- Our fleet is comprised of Mercedes, Volkswagen, Ford, FCA, Sedans, MPVs and Vans. Many Italian cities have restricted the areas where certain vehicles can circulate, so in order to offer you the best service possible and to let you reach your destination as comfortably as possible, we will arrange your vehicle accordingly

Great experience! We had a wonderful time and wouldn’t hesitate to do it again! Tour guide had great knowledge and understanding of Rome.
Learning the background stories of the many monuments and artists while marveling at their beauty and craftsmanship.
It was all great!!! Our tour guide said you would send us the pictures he took in ROME?? The guide was very knowled.
It was a well planned trip. Had a great time and got to know so much about Rome in a short duration and specially Our driver Mr Goviani was really good
The Vatican and the Pantheon were great to see. Our tour guide was the best. He drove around Rome and allowed us to see all the main sights and enjoy lunch in 9 hours.
Best Tour Ever. Our driver, Giovanni was excellent. He picked us up right at the docks. Not only did he kept us informed of the history and information about each site we visited in Rome but he kept us laughing all the way. He made this trip one of the best tours my family and I have been on, much like a precious moment. He knew every inch of the city and brought us right up to the sites and knew where to park so we don’t have much walking to do. He gave us all the time we needed as we visited each site. He even took pictures of our family and sent them by email as an added value. Well worth the money and exceptional service. I highly recommend this tour and especially our tour guide/driver. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Excellent! We loved our driver, Giovanni! Funny and very knowledgeable. Took us all over and to a delicious, authentic restaurant for lunch. Thank you for a wonderful day!
It's very hard to do Rome in a day, but Khan made sure we saw all the highlights (and more)!! He is very friendly, knowledgeable, and proud of his city! I have been to Rome twice before and was not sure how this was going to work, but it did! We were able to see Circus Maximus, Palentine Hill, The Forum, Emannuel II Vittoriono Monument, The Colosseum, The Spanish Steps, The Trevi Fountain, The Basilica of St. Maria Maggiore, have a delightful lunch, and tour the Vatican Museums, The Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter's Basilica before arriving back on the boat by 5:30pm! Along with our fabulous driver, Khan, Rosario was a great tour guide for the Vatican tours! Add a tour guide to this excursion. I've seen the Vatican twice before, and this is the most informative visit. Great Day all around!

Well worth the money. We were the first family off the cruise ship. A professional driver greeted us and took us everywhere we needed to be. This was the trip of a lifetime and my parents got to see every thing they wanted in Rome.

We were a family of eleven so we had 2 vehicles. Our driver Giavonni did an excellent job of explaining the sites. We were taken to within two blocks of all the important sites. They would tell how much time we could stay in order to see the most sites. Our guide even arranged with a resturant for our family to have a little break before our appointed time at the Vatican museum and the Sistine Chapel. We were six adults and five children ages 15-7.
Our guide at the Vatican could not have been better. Our first experience with Viator but would book tours with them again without hesitation.
