This was one of the BEST experiences I have had with a tour group in all of my worldly travels. I was picked up and returned at my door. I enjoyed leaving at 8:00 AM rather than 4:00 AM. I was greeted by hiking guide, Alex and the driver, Yober. Alex gave me a bag with water and a lot of great snacks! We stopped at a restaurant to use the extremely clean restroom along the way and place our lunch order for the post hike meal. Once we arrived at the hiking start point we walked a short ways where he helped the other hiker in my group get settled on a horse. The two of us took off and hiked all the way to the top and with the bonus of the last high peak to reach one of the “hands” so I could get more great photos. He knows all the primo photo spots and was kind to take lots of photos for me. I enjoyed listening to some history about the mountain, Cusco and practicing my Spanish with him along the way. Upon returning to the van, Yober handed me a warm wash cloth that smelled and felt great. He also asked me what type of tea I would like. Top notch service again! We drove back to the restaurant and our food was ready. WOW, my quinoa soup and trout were delicious. I also tried my hiking mates chicken, which was excellent too. The dessert was a Lucuma mousse and I’d like another one. I only have great things to state about this trip and that you receive a lot of great service for what you pay. I highly recommend this trip. If at all possible allow yourself to acclimate to the altitude before you go on this hike to Rainbow Mountain. I exercise a lot and hike but not at this extreme altitude. You might have to consider a horse to get you up. It can also be cold and windy so wear layers, bring a sun hat and sunscreen. One last important point to mention is that the office staff did a great job about responding to my pick up questions. They also needed some information in advance and that was smooth as well. Thank you for an amazing day Alex and Yober!!!
Ronald, our guide, was excellent! This is the ultimate Andes tour, in my opinion. The hike was beautiful!
Amazing tour! Our guide Ronald was the best! We revived snacks for the tour and then finished with a great lunch in a really good restaurant
Ronald was our tour guide and he was fantastic. Help all the way and was very fun. A must have!
I had the best experiences. From pick up to lunch and the entire trip is superb
Ronald was our guide. Entire day was fantastic, from pickup, support reaching the summit and the included meal. 100% would recommend
Great communication, pickup was on-time, our guide John was excellent and very professional. Transport was comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk, we had outstanding views. Return trip saw us enjoy a very scrumptious lunch, albeit a late one. Would highly recommend this company. Should we return to Peru, would definitely use again.
Here is a Chinese translation of the above English review: Highly recommended The experience was amazing. Our guide Alex and driver Gobol did their best to make the whole trip comfortable and enjoyable. The team paid great attention to detail - they always cared if I was car-sick or fit for the altitude, sent us bottled water and snacks before we left, and prepared a nice hot tea and towels as we went downhill. When we reached the top, it was very cold and windy. I had hypoglycemic symptoms and Alex was very patient, he also prepared the oxygen tank until I got better and took a lot of beautiful pictures for me. Thanks to his kindness, I have fond memories of Rainbow Mountain despite the difficult conditions. It was definitely the best part of my trip to Peru. This private group is highly recommended for avoiding the crowds and enjoying meticulous care.
10/10 experience with Alex! Everything was perfectly organized and we always felt well taken care of. He constantly checked on us during the Rainbow Mountain tour and even carried oxygen in case anyone needed it. After the hike, we got a warm towel and tea, followed by a delicious lunch, which was the perfect ending to the trip. Highly recommended!
Alex the guide and Paulino the driver are great combo for this tour. I would recommend this tour to everyone who wants to avoid the crowd and be more flexible with scheduling.
