Private Jeep Tour: Punta Sur, Mayan Park & Snorkel Adventure

A unique and unforgettable experience, the places were very beautiful and the guide Sosa was an incredible person, very attentive and respectful, he elevated the experience with his knowledge of the island and his recommendations, I would return without a doubt!

Felipe was an excellent tour guide and it was such a great way to learn and explore Cozumel! He started by showing us a map and giving all the options so we were able to customize our day. He knows so much about Mayan history and the culture as well as the landscape and island highlights. We visited the lagoon, lighthouse, beach and museum at Punta Sur, the Look Out, a cenote, went downtown and toured the Mayan ruins. Also saw Mayan dancers and did tequila and chocolate taste testing. Highlight was snorkeling at Sky Reef! We felt very safe and had access to facilities and drinks. Lunch stop was tacos or fajitas. He takes photos along the way and transfers them to your phone at no extra cost. It was the best way to experience Cozumel and I highly recommend Felipe!

Isaac was a fantastic guide! So knowledgeable and kind. Our experience was personalized, flexible, relaxing and encompassed so much of the island. Our guide shared stories and led us through Mayan history while answering all our questions. We had the best time and our guide truly made our day so enjoyable. We had a truly unforgettable experience thanks to this private jeep tour of Cozumel Island. From the first moment, the Felipe guide proved extremely helpful, kind and attentive to our needs. He was able to listen to our requests and build a completely personalized itinerary for us, making the day unique. The tour started with a visit to the center of San Miguel de Cozumel, where we could breathe the true soul of the island and visit the main tourist attractions. Next we stopped at a characteristic black coral objects shop, really interesting. After this stop, we visited the OTOCH center, where we had the opportunity to immerse ourselves in Mayan culture, tasting tequila and chocolate typical of Mexico and discovering its history and traditions. The day then continued in the wonderful Punta Sur Park, with a visit to the lagoon and its beautiful natural landscapes. The tour ended with a moment of pure relaxation between beach and sea: we had a wonderful swim and snorkeling on the coral reef, a really exciting experience. We absolutely recommend this private tour with Felipe to anyone who wants to discover this wild island, which will remain forever in our hearts.

We booked this tour independently in lieu of taking a cruise excursion. The pros: our guide, Isaac, was very friendly and attentive throughout the day. He was a cautious driver with a new and comfortable vehicle. The visit to the Punta Sur Eco Park was great - a beautiful, uncrowded part of Cozumel where we saw crocs and alligators, climbed the lighthouse (stunning views), and had a beach break at Virgin Beach, including an off shore snorkel experience and a great lunch. The snorkeling was guided and Leo showed us beautiful parts of the reef and we got to see a sea turtle. The cons: the visit to the Mayan Park was the worst type of tourist trap. A lame Mayan dance performance, with tequila, honey and chocolate tastings all with the the unashamed intention of selling you overpriced goods. Be forewarned that the "flavored' tequilas are not tequila at all. Long story short, we enjoyed our day because of our personable guide and the beauty of the Punta Sur Eco Park and lighthouse. that said, I wish the Mayan Park portion of the excursion never happened. It was a waste of precious time and had no redeeming value.
