The tour was really good and informative and the guide really engaging. The principle of the company is that these experiences should be available to all regardless of means, so the tour is free with the request that if you wish to make a contribution and the end then it would be gratefully received. It was very much worth a contribution and we were happy to be able to do so but would not have felt pressured if we could not. It was really great to walk around the city to hear the information and stories of the area.
Alan, our tour guide provided many insights regarding York history, its past related to Roman empires, Vikings and Normans. We learn many legendary stories related to York beyond its natural beauty. Thank you very much!
We had a very enjoyable tour with Chris. He was full of interesting information as we wandered about York City centre. His enthusiasm and knowledge ensured that we learned loads and the time flew by
This was just a fantastic tour. Chris Kelly picked our family of four up from our hotel at 10 and we spent the next 6 hours with him and his encyclopedic knowledge, warm personality, and love of York. No question he couldn't answer and engaged with our kids beautifully to share his own excitement for York's history and bringing it to life for them. Cannot recommend highly enough. If you're headed to York, don't miss out.
Karen was a fountain of historical information. She showed us all around York in two hours. We also liked listening to her interesting life.
Chris was the perfect guide - very knowledgable, friendly and hilarious. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visting York.
The guide was very passionate about history, which made the tour great. We visited all the important spots around the city and he provided us with lots of information.
We did this tour with Alan who has a great deal of knowledge of York, its history and British history in general. Alan shared with us some fascinating facts of York, its history, key moments and influential persons, that really brought to life our walk around York. If you’re interested in such, then I don’t think you’d be disappointed if you joined him of a similar tour - well done Alan and thank you!
During my visit to York, I joined the walking tour by White Rose York Tours, and it honestly became one of the highlights of my trip. As a first-time visitor, I wanted to understand the history behind the city rather than just walk around, and this tour was the perfect way to do that. Our guide was incredibly passionate and made the stories of the city feel alive. We visited amazing places like York Minster, St Mary's Abbey, Clifford's Tower, and the beautiful historic street The Shambles. What I really loved was the storytelling. Instead of just facts, the guide shared interesting stories about kings, Vikings, and even famous characters connected to the city. It made the whole experience engaging and memorable. The tour was relaxed, informative, and a great way to truly experience York. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city, especially if it’s your first time. ⭐ Highly recommended!
This is one of the most brilliant and informative tours I have ever been on. Alan's passion for his subject is clear and he has a natural panache that kept us captivated for two hours..no small feat. Highly highly recommended!!!
