The Mandraki harbor with its impressive monumental buildings built by the Italians. Mandraki harbor has been a harbor since antiquity. The Knights of Rhodes moored their fleet in this harbor and today it houses modern yachts. The sculptures of the Rhodian Deer, a stag and a doe, stand on slim columns on either side of the Mandraki Harbor entrance. It is believed that the statue of Colossus once stood here. Today these two charming Rhodian deer sculptures serve as the guardians of the Port. The Three Windmills were used in the past to grind grains brought from vessels that moored in the harbor of Rhodes. There used to be more windmills, possibly 13 or 14 but now only three remain and they have been extensively renovated offering a great opportunity for instagrammable photos!

Very good and quick tour

Rhodes is a beautiful place and having a local guide (lived there all his life) was definitely worth it. We got to see some beautiful sites and got a great sense of the history of the island. Our guide was pretty accommodating as we had to actually book 2 separate tours since we had a large group (16 people) and he helped both groups since the driver on the other tour was pathetic. He gave us good recommendations for lunch (try La Varta-excellent reasonably priced food with a variety of choices though the portions were ridiculously huge) and also gave us a nice local perspective on the city. Great views near the Acropolis and the stadium area is very well preserved (there is a cool place right in front of the stands where you can hear an echo when you speak).   Rhodes is actually pretty accessible and we had someone in a wheelchair who was easily able to get around though some of the hills would be challenging without a little help. Overall a good tour and worth the money with a guide who went the extra mile.
