Deidre with Blue Badge Guides was amazing. She met us right on time and gave us a beautiful drive along the coast. We made a special stop at Ballintoy to see the cemetery where some of my ancestors were buried. She was very solicitous of me as I have some mobility issues. Deidre also gave us a quick tour of Derry, where she has personal experience with the history. We all had a lovely time. I highly recommend touring with Blue Badge and Deidre.
Great Driver! Knowledgeable and kind! We had a great day and highly recommend this private tour! Our driver Aiden, gave us all the time we needed at every stop and was a pleasure to have as our guide!
We had a lovely afternoon with Michael. He was right on time and we wasted no time getting oriented to the city before heading out to Giants Causeway. Michael definitely knew his history local and otherwise which made it particularly nice for me being a history nerd. I liked getting his perspective as he's old enough to have experienced some of the good along with the challenging history and being in the bullseye of the Northern Ireland conflict made it particularly interesting. Unfortunately for us we were there in November when the sunlight has disappeared by 4:30 which made for a brisk trip to get to the Causeway but he showed us eveything we could try and fit into an afternoon trip. We felt quite lucky to be able to snag Michael on short notice as we were there at the bottom of the tourist season. If we are lucky enough to be ab;e to get back to that part of Ireland again in the future I wouldn't hesitate to book Michael for another tour.
Michael gave a wonderful personalized tour to the Causeway with an impromptu guide to the bogside murals, which we later explored on our own. Witty, friendly, and very much an expert in the area. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our day!
Our guide was friendly and super knowledgeable so our entire trip was filled with local history and events that still affect the area. He was great at communicating with as plans changed due to our finishing a portion early.
We had a group tour to Giant's Causeway, Bushmills Distillery and Coastal Treasures. Our guide in Londonderry (or Derry if you prefer?) Dierdre, and driver Lionel were a hoot as a team. Our group enjoyed their banter and joking back and forth on how they came from both sides of the political and religious fences. An 8 hour tour with lunch but it seemed to pass quickly even with the detours due to the 153rd Open Championship at Royal Portrush which was happening near our lunch spot at the Royal Court Hotel. We ended with a tasting at Bushmills and some souvenir shopping. I highly recommend both Dierdre and Lionel.
This was the perfect causeway coast tour! We had such a great day with our stellar tour guide. Highly recommend!
On a recent cruise around Ireland I wanted to visit places that were important to my family and its history so I arranged for this private tour of the Causeway Coast and Derry. Aidan was our driver and guide and was keen to take us wherever we wanted to go. We visited Giants Causeway, a lookout so that we could see the Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge and Portrush, where I was able to visit the grave of a Great Aunt and the house where she had lived. He found us a good place to have lunch in Portrush and took us on a beautiful scenic ride back towards Derry with a brief tour of Derry, including a walk along the "Derry Wall" and stories about the Troubles, before getting us back to our ship right on time. He was informative, kind and a great driver whose only interest seemed to be in giving us a great day, which was fully accomplished.
I left a review for Michael re: Belfast but neglected to include the other two days we spent with him! Derry and Giant's Causeway were also with him and we had the most excellent time. Michael shares a thorough knowledge of history, politics and geology in NI--not many can do this. Highly recommend him!
I can’t say enough good things about how Michael was to work with. Red was our guide and he was a wealth of knowledge. He was so patient, listened to what we wanted and also had great ideas. We had him pick us up in Belfast did an all day tour and he took us to our next place in Derry. We enjoyed his tour so much, we had Red for the next day in Derry. He showed us spots we wanted, but more importantly amazing ones he knew about. As a person whom never did a tour with a private driver, I know think it is the only way to go.
