Private Guided New York City Tour by SUV

Our day with Best New York City Tours was everything we expected and more. We had a customized tour because we were researching ancestor burial sites. Sheldon is knowledgeable about Brooklyn and NY history. He is entertaining and made the drives between stops, educational. We had an additional stop at Ground Zero and Sheldon’s reverence and information made this experience even more emotionally powerful. Sheldon did a great job of preparing our agenda in advance and following up afterwards. We highly recommend Best New York City Tours!

This was our first trip to NYC and we wanted to soak in the city, the history, & all the fabulous sites with our tour friends & guides for the day, Sheldon & Michael. I wanted to feel like a New Yorker, mission accomplished! We feel so thankful to have been able to have this adventure together! We had booked this tour last year & had to reschedule, due to a serious health event. Sheldon was very kind & supportive at that time, we really appreciate the prayers and the care!

Amazing. Amazing. I have previously done tours like big bus and this was an elevated experience. Tour guide Sheldon said as knowledgeable. Funny. Lower the attention of our entire group including a teenager, senior citizen and all ages between. Highly recommend. What I enjoyed best is how customizable the tour is. He’ll tailor it to whatever you want to see. And if you say, just show me the highlights, he can do that too.

This was absolutely fantastic. We had six people in our family visiting NYC and this was an ideal way to see A LOT of landmarks, learn a lot, and have fun doing it. We loved that there was a separate driver and guide, making drop offs for a quick visit to some locations easy and allowing our guide to talk to us the whole time without being distracted by the challenging drive through the city. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

We had an awesome 4 hour tour with Sheldon and driver G. Sheldon's level of knowledge on all things New York is incredible. The information he shared on all of the places we visited was extensive. We had an absolutely fantastic private tour and truly couldn’t recommend it more highly. From start to finish, everything was seamless, thoughtfully planned, and completely tailored to our interests. Marshall, our guide, was exceptional..knowledgeable, engaging, and incredibly personable. He has a real gift for storytelling and brought every location to life with context, history, and little details you simply wouldn’t get on a standard tour. Our private driver was equally outstanding: professional, punctual, and ensuring the entire day ran smoothly and comfortably. It made such a difference being able to move around the city effortlessly without any stress or waiting, allowing us to fully enjoy each stop. What really stood out was how much we were able to experience in just one day, without ever feeling rushed. We visited the World Trade Center, which was incredibly moving, and enjoyed a classic New York moment with a stop at Joe’s Pizza—simple, authentic, and absolutely delicious. We then explored Brooklyn and saw the iconic Brooklyn Bridge, which was a real highlight. One of the most unique parts of the tour was the opportunity to drive through the Bronx and Harlem. This gave us a much broader and more authentic perspective of New York beyond the typical tourist areas, and Marshall’s insights made these parts of the city especially interesting and memorable. What we appreciated most was the flexibility and personal touch throughout the entire experience. Nothing felt scripted or rigid and Marshall adapted the day based on our pace and interests, which made it feel very special and personal. If you’re looking for a comprehensive, insightful, and genuinely enjoyable way to experience New York, this tour is absolutely worth it. This team go above and beyond to create something truly memorable—we would do it again in a heartbeat.

I do not recommend this tour with young kids, or if you have a sense of what you want to see. If you’re interested in a local’s tour with adults you’ll probably be fine. Driver is very nice. Tour guide Sheldon was abrasive to me for trying to ask if we could have a stop on the tour where my 3 year old could run around. He asked several times if I was trying to take over his tour. I found that very impolite for asking logistical questions. In short, I’d booked the wrong tour, as I was interested in a custom tour that my young kids would enjoy. This tour would’ve been fine for just adults.
