Private Guided Grenada Island Tour "BY THE HOUR"

Description
For our private hourly island tours, we are simply giving a deal of per hour, fully private and customized. You can let me know activity level, interest in adding a short hike, river tubing etc. If you don’t know yet what you want to see, your guide will discuss details with you and play it by ear. All we ask upfront is a 1-hour deposit to block the entire day, vehicle and guide for you! You can also decide on your pickup time directly from your hotel lobby at your convenience. You can then enjoy the day out with your guide with no time pressure or worries about the weather situation, etc. We have a 4-hour minimum policy, but a budget of 6 hours would be highly recommended This deal, we believe, gives you the most flexibility for exploring! After the tour you can then pay the guide right in the car via credit card or cash for the remainder. We trust you with this payment as you trust us with your valuable vacation time!

Itinerary
Just a short drive from the capital, Annandale Falls are enclosed in a garden of green and a wall of rocks covered in soft ferns and other vegetation. A dip is most invigorating. Or simply revel in the beauty and sounds of the falls. Spend time in the surrounding gardens where tropical flowers and trees flourish and visit the Interpretation Centre, Bar and Restaurant.
The most popular areas in Grenada for hiking and trekking is undoubtedly the rainforest around the Grand Etang Forest Reserve, high up in the mountains of the island’s interior. Grand Etang’s flora includes towering mahogany and giant gommier trees as well as a multitude of ferns, tropical flowers, and other indigenous plants. The lush vegetation provides shelter for a wide variety of animals, particularly for the island’s many species of birds. The broad winged hawk, Lesser Antillean swift, Antillean euphonia, purple throated carib, Antillean crested hummingbird and the Lesser Antillean tanager (known as the soursop) are all common sights. In addition, Grand Etang is populated by plenty of frogs and lizards, as well as playing host to opossums, armadillos, mongoose, and the Mona monkey.
Clarke’s Court Rum Distillery is a "must see" for all visitors, the island’s best-known and largest distillery and one of the most interesting historical sites. The factory has been in operation since 1937 and is situated in the southern part of the island. When you arrive you would be welcomed by a friendly and knowledgeable tour guide, who will explain the history and all the different processes and stages of making fine rum. You would learn of the distilling process from sugar cane, syrup and molasses, to rum, and also the aging, blending and bottling processes of making rum. On the tour you would also get the opportunity to discover old steam engines, some dating as far back as 1886. The tour of the factory lasts about fifteen minutes, after which you would be escorted to our Hospitality Center, where you will see our unique Barrel Furniture and an interesting display of the Clarke’s Court products. You are invited to sample award-winning rums at the sample bar.
Visit the Grand Anse Craft & Spice Market right at the famous Grand Anse Beach to marvel at the products of local talented vendors. A wide variety of arts and crafts, aromatic spices, custom-made jewelry, leather goods and hair braiding services are open for purchase. Feel free to take a swim on a 1.8 miles white sand beach!

Looks like you’re in the United Kingdom. Go to the British Trustpilot site Thanks for your review! Toursgrenada logo Toursgrenada Your review is pending.Read more Natalie Finch 12 reviews GB Rated 4 out of 5 stars Took way longer than needed to When we booked back int he uk , I put it in the request we just wanted Belmont estate and back, I even reiterated this in an email to the owner and when we got in the car to the driver. We have toured the island previously so didn’t need a repeat. It took the driver over 3 hours to get us there, 30 min tour and then 90 mins back. The email despite me booking 9-1 , said be in reception at 0830 which we were, it’s normal for them to ask you to arrive early but I wasn’t aware they would charge me from that point even when I booked from 0900. We ended up paying 2 hours extra on card when we got back due to the route he chose, he kept asking about seeing places and we said no, we also made him aware my husband was not feeling well when we got in the car. I did also email 2 days before to see if we could move it with no reply
Dear Natalie Finch, It was YOU that has ASKED/requested an 8.30 pick up time in the booking form. I have confirmed your requested time 2 days prior when asking for your room number. You can see the same time in your invoice. Why would we charge later when your tour started at 8.31am according to our records? From all your various 3-star reviews and the experience with the island layout and topographic, being there for the 4th time, I wonder if a rental car, a bus or a taxi driver wouldn't have been the better choice for you than requesting our best TOURGUIDE Marcus to bring you as fast as possible nonstop to the other side of the island. You have specifically requested him due to positive reviews like Yvettes. The two of us have exchanged emails beforehand in which I kindly tried to explain that "...I see you are requesting Marcus and there might be good chance that you realize during the tour that you haven’t seen or heard it all, he will surprise you as guide and it still can turn out longer, unless you tell him clearly in the beginning that this is the budget and you don’t want to do longer, and want to be back in the hotel in 4 hours." Your response was "No it’s not about the budget we just like to relax we have tried to do a bit each stay and this is our 4th time to Grenada". It surely looks like there was a budget issue after all and while the other years the guides had the simple gig to pack as many attractions as possible in small distances, our guide was given the task to deliver his cargo to the furthest attraction, without stops, without talk, without safety. Reading earlier reviews, you could have read between the lines that this is not our way of delivering experiences and it never will be. While I understand your frustration a little bit, you also have to understand that we have got to eat too, and we can't do that with 4-hour race days but would never trick you in situations as you blamed us to. Regarding your accusations about moving the tour due to sickness: #1 you booked a nonrefundable tour and refused our cancelation insurance. #2 you have asked at 7.08am and said your husband wasn't feeling well YESTERDAY and before we couldn't even answer you mailed us at 10.26am "Don't worry we will leave it tomorrow at 0830 in reception" !!!! Wouldn't it be great to be able to upload screenshots as an accused business to call out the baseless BS of people!!
We had a great time with Marcus exploring the island.
Thanks for the review
Travis was amazing! He was very thorough, friendly and customer service oriented! This is the type of service you want for your family and friends that want a safe and exciting tour!
Thank you Marcus!
We had an amazing time with Marcus. He loves his island and his job. He took his time and explained everything in detail and provided as much history as we wanted. We got to taste fresh fruits from the vine and saw forts from the 1700’s and views from the highest peaks of the island and met the Mona Monkeys and visited waterfalls and local vendors. Best excursion ever. Learned and saw so much in 1 day. Love in the house!
Thank you Eric!!!
We chose the pay by the hour tour and Travis was our guide. He picked us up on time and was so friendly. He was very knowledgeable about the history and showed us places we would have never known about. We saw the monkeys, the waterfall, the spice market, and so much more. We ended up at a beach bar with the best fish tacos. Great service and would definitely recommend and choose Travis next time!
Thank you so much!!!
Incredible experience adventuring around Grenada! Beautiful island! Grand Anse beach, The spice market, waterfall, shops, House of Chocolate, monkey visit, local lunch, and rum tour was a day packed with so much fun. We booked a private tour with Travis and cannot say enough great things. We especially enjoyed all the history/knowledge of the island while driving around. Felt that we were truly taken care of and that he wanted to give us a memorable experience. Even gave us some good rum recs. Thanks Travis see you next time!
Thank you....
We toured with Travis and had an amazing time! Travis did an amazing job and he made it feel less like paying for a tour and more like we met up with an old friend that was showing us around his home town. He was very helpful finding places to go see and did a great job explaining the history of the island and answering all the many questions we had about living on the island. We started by going downtown to the world of chocolate where they explained how the chocolate is made and have a nice gift shop. Next he took us to the market which was a good place for souvenirs. Then we went to the Grand Etang forest where we got to meet the mona monkeys and see the grand etang crater lake. After that we stopped by fort Frederick and the Annandale waterfall where you can go swimming. Last he took us to a local restaurant where we could try the local roti dish. Overall the experience was 10 out of 10 and I would highly recommend Travis to anyone!
Thank you so much!!!
