Itinerary
Many of the show’s memorable moments take place in Grantchester Meadows, so pull on your walking boot, because no Grantchester tour would be complete without a visit to the Meadows.
You’ll be guided through familiar locations that required very little set dressing to transport them back to the 1950s. You may be surprised at how many film locations can be found on the vicar’s doorstep!
See the homes of Leonard’s flame, Daniel and Sydney’s love interest, Amanda. Your guide will point out spots where the police found abandoned cars, brutal murders were committed and suspicious deaths investigated.
Visit the interior and exterior featured heavily throughout all 6 series of Grantchester. So many memorable scenes have been filmed inside this church including Mrs Maguire’s marriage to Jack and the ‘Brechtian’ Christmas nativity directed by Leonard.
Stop off en route before or after the walking tour to the famous University City which is only 2 miles away from Grantchester Village.

It was extremely hot there day of our tour but we still enjoyed it. The 1000 year old church was quite a site.
The guide and itinerary were great and we really enjoyed the tour. Grantchester is a charming village worth touring even if you're not a fan of the show.
The tour was amazing! Deborah knew so much about the TV show and the village. We saw so many locations, such as a spot by the river, the church, a pub, and the tea room.
Our guide was quite knowledgeable and articulate. I think she said her name was Debbie or Debra. We greatly enjoyed seeing the places and sights that we've seen many times before on the grantchester television program
Our tour guide, Debra, was super. Interesting, knowledgeable and friendly. We thoroughly enjoy the two hours with her, learning some of the back stories of the TV series, the village and the characters and actors themselves. Plus, we met a couple who were “townspeople“ in several of the shows. Also, we recommend lunch at the Green Man, where Geordie and the vicar were known to have a pint or two!
This was a most enjoyable and informative two hours, blending an invigorating walk (very beautiful especially along the Cam) with a wealth of information about the Grantchester novels and TV series from a knowledgeable guide. We were reminded of many moments from the TV series and found out a lot more. A varied and fascinating afternoon
This was an amazing tour that combined the history of Grantchester with the explanation of the characters and the story line. The guide was very sweet and knowledgeable during our tour. The groups are small allowing for an easy atmosphere while walking through the beautiful Grantchester and the Meadows. This was a great experience.
