Walk through the Old Town of the Villa de Bilbao knowing its century old story and the most emblematic places. We'll go through the Seven Streets enjoying palaces, old churches, the market and the incomparable atmosphere of its bustling streets.
Visit to the emblematic "Basilica de Begoña" when the "amatxu" of the Biscay people is located. Full of history and place of pilgrimages and festive moments.
The Alhondiga is an old wine warehouse converted into a modern and spectacular, multicultural center. The first impression upon entering its interior is one of disbelief and amazement at the architectural marvel that is housed inside. Wonderful place!
We'll cross this beautiful square, the center of the Villa de Bilbao, going through part of Gran Vía, the true backbone of the Villa.
Touring the Ria del Nervión we'll enjoy the best exterior views outside of this famous museum. Impressive architecture offered by this wonderful building of titanium, stone and glass. Built by Frank Ghery has been the authentic architect of the renovation of Bilbao.
After strolling along the estuary and crossing the Calatrava Bridge, we head to the Artxanda Funicular which take us up to the Artxanda viewpoint in a few minutes. From this place we can see Bilbao in all its splendor.

Our guide José, a native of Bilbao, was able to convey the essence of his town through his knowledge, experiences, and his journey as a guide. Despite the rain, we were able to explore the entire city, its streets and iconic monuments, its history, and the warmth of its people. 100% recommended!

It was boiling hot during our tour in Bilbao, but we forged ahead as Jose showed us all of Bilbao and gave us a very thorough and thoughtful introduction to the city. He recommended a wonderful restaurant which we enjoyed very much. Would very much recommend. Thanks Jose for sharing with us the city we have come to love!

What an amazing day we had exploring the fantastic city of Bilbao with our guide Jose. We covered an impressive 14km in this relaxed yet comprehensive walk that included the funicular and secret lift experience to views of and from the upper eschelons of Bilbao. We stopped for a delicious lunch in Casco Viajo at a restaurante organised by Jose. It was a treat to have such a passionate and informed local orientate us to this intriguing, bilingual city, the history, culture and amazing sights. When planning this trip, never did I imagine we would be walking down the streets of the Gran Via singing songs of the Pogues with our guide (Jose is an avid fan as are we). We also appreciated the insights provided by Jose on our upcoming trip to Picos de Europa. Eskerrik asko Jose!!!

When we arrived in Bilbao we were warmly greeted by Jose. He took us everywhere and not just to the tourist sections but to other beautiful neighborhoods. Jose was an outstanding guide. He showed us all the great sites plus he was helpful in navigating a very large soccer crowd on this day. You could not ask for a nicer and more accommodating guide. My wife has mobility challenges and our guide was very mindful of them.

We really enjoyed our private guided walking tour with Jose. He really knows the city of Bilbao and it's history. He took us to an authentic Basque restaurant where we tried food from the region. I was able to take lots of pictures without feeling rushed. We were very fortunate that we had a sunny warm day in December, could not have planned the day any better.
