We’ll visit the iconic Gernika Tree, under which Basque leaders have sworn oaths for centuries, and explore the Parliament House gardens. Next, we’ll see the powerful mural reproduction of Picasso’s "Guernica", a tribute to the tragic bombing during the Spanish Civil War. It was a great trip - a...

It was a great trip - a good amount of time in each place, and Paul was a wonderfully friendly and well-informed guide - truly a local expert! The three places we visited formed nice contrasts - the dramatic setting of Gaztelugatxe, the pretty village and estuary of Mundaka, and the sad history of Gernika - to make up a very good day. Paul was careful to make sure we knew that a steep walk was ahead of us for Gaztelugatxe (not an issue for either of us, but we appreciated the care he was showing) - the views were stunning. A choice of two restaurants in Mundaka for a light lunch, and lovely food at the one we chose, with a terrace table by the harbour...
