We joined a one-day trip from Hurghada to Luxor with Monarch Vacations, and it was an incredible experience! Our guide Abu was outstanding — knowledgeable, friendly, and made every site come to life with his stories and passion for Egyptian history. The organisation was excellent from start to finish. Transportation was comfortable, admission tickets were included, and the schedule was perfectly timed. The atmosphere in Luxor was truly magical, full of history and energy, yet peaceful around the temples. Although there were some crowds at the main sites, Abu managed the timing so well that we always had space to enjoy and take great photos. The whole staff were professional and caring, making sure everyone was comfortable throughout the day. This private day trip from Hurghada to Luxor was the highlight of my entire Egypt holiday! Although it’s a long day (around 4 hours each way), it’s absolutely worth every minute. 🚐 Comfortable Journey Our driver arrived right on time in a clean, air-conditioned car. The drive through the desert and villages gave us a glimpse of everyday Egyptian life — fascinating and peaceful. The private setup made it flexible, so we could stop for photos or short breaks whenever we wanted. 🏺 Luxor & Valley of the Kings Experience When we reached Luxor, our Egyptologist guide joined us — extremely knowledgeable and passionate about history. He brought ancient Egypt to life with amazing stories and details that made the sites so much more meaningful. At the Valley of the Kings, we visited several tombs, including those of Ramses VI and Tutankhamun. The hieroglyphs and wall paintings were incredibly vivid — hard to believe they’re thousands of years old! The guide explained the symbolism and burial traditions in a way that was both fun and educational. We also visited the Temple of Hatshepsut, which is breathtakingly carved into the cliffs, and stopped at the Colossi of Memnon for photos. Afterward, we enjoyed a lovely buffet lunch at a local Nile-view restaurant — authentic Egyptian food and a refreshing breeze. Over all the day was long but perfectly organized — we never felt rushed, and the guide and driver were professional, friendly, and attentive. Seeing the Valley of the Kings in person was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Especial mention to our tourist guide Mr. Amoon, very friend and knowledgeable to the history.
