Our tour guide was an extremely nice person!! However, English was not his first language and he was VERY difficult to understand. Our tour started off at the Fitzwilliam Museum. I thought that he might show us the highlights of the museum, as we have had previous guides that have done this. No, we were left to explore the museum ourselves with no insights into the history of the museum or anything we viewed during our time there. After the museum tour was complete, he planned to take us to the botanical gardens. I have a 15 year old son and a husband that are not interested at all in gardens. It was decided we should go punting instead. No history of Cambridge or interesting facts during the walk to the river. We ended up paying for the guide to go punting along with us. After punting, he said it was time for the tour to end. There was no walking tour of Cambridge at all. Wr not only paid for a private walking tour of Cambridge, which we didn’t get, we also paid for an extra person to go punting with us. We have gone on several private walking tours on other trips and they have been excellent!! Very disappointed that this one was not up to par.
Hi Elizabeth, Thank you for your detailed feedback. We're truly sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. We understand how disappointing it must have been to miss out on the full walking tour you were looking forward to. We’ve contacted you by email to follow up on this situation. Please accept our sincere apologies, and we hope to have the chance to provide the quality experience you were expecting. Warm wishes, Guydeez Team
A lot of walking, but worth the effort and Yunfei was the perfect guide. We could choose exactly what we wanted to see and we were taken to areas that we wouldn’t have found by ourselves. Good entry to the colleges without it becoming all about the colleges, would highly recommend
Our guide, Daniel, was exceptional! He was on time, asked us what we were interested in seeing, and had a great knowledge of the University of Cambridge, and it’s history, buildings, etc.
