⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Absolute Must-Do in Sofia!

If you’re looking to peel back the layers of Sofia’s 2,000-year history without feeling like you're in a crowded school assembly, this private tour is the only way to go. Our guide was a total pro—incredibly knowledgeable, witty, and able to weave together the complex history of Roman ruins, Ottoman influence, and Communist-era architecture into a story that actually made sense. Being a private tour, we had the flexibility to linger at the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral for photos and skip the parts that didn't interest us as much.

Fabulous!!

5/5 stars. Marina was an absolute gem! Not only was she knowledgeable and delightful, she was passionate and customized the tour to our interests and understanding. We learned so much about Bulgarian history, the city of Sofia, Boyana Church and Rila Monastery, and her family with deeply personal stories. No hesitation to use her again over and over.

Great experience in Sofia with everything needed

We opted for the self-guided option and that was really good! All the guide's notes, great audio and maps. And all this for the fraction of the cost. Real value! Definitely recommend.

Scam fake tour

Totally a Scam. You pay 50€ for a cheap pdf and a Ai audio guide that last 30 min. It is not a guided tour! DO NOT BUY IT. Get a free tour instead

Operator response

Hello Giovanni, let us give clarity for everyone reading this as your review is misleading actually. This is why: you booked the self-guided tour option which gives you all the guide notes and the audio guide. It is times cheaper than the privately-guided option. It is strange that you ask for the privately-guided option when you paid for the self-guided option. And that is all visible online and in your voucher too in the inclusions and exclusions. We are OK to take you on the privately-guided option but you have to pay the difference between the two options. Actually you could have done this from the beginning. We had sent to you everything included in the self-guided option. All the best

Sofia walking tour

Our experience with this tour company was truly enjoyable from start to finish. Rumi, our guide for the walking tour of Sofia, arrived right on time and led us through a route that was light, easy to follow, yet still managed to cover all the essential sights. She was not only patient but also highly informative, sharing interesting details at a comfortable pace. Before the tour even began, Hristo was prompt in answering our queries and even suggested alternative options for us to consider. Overall, the company demonstrated professionalism and attentiveness, ensuring we felt supported both before and after the tour.

Above and Beyond!

I contracted with Visit Bulgaria for a private tour of Sofia for my clients. They loved the tour and the city. Beyond the tour, the company went above and beyond to ensure my client's needs were met by purchasing their train tickets for them when they went on sale, ensuring that my clients would have a sleeper on the train. Thank you so much Hristo! Highly recommended.
