The Giza pyramid complex in Egypt is home to the Great Pyramid, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure, along with their associated pyramid complexes and the Great Sphinx. All were built during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom of ancient Egypt, between c. 2600 – c. 2500 BC. Further Old Kingdom pyramid fields were located at the sites Abu Rawash, Zawyet El Aryan, and Meidum. The Great Pyramid and the Pyramid of Khafre are the largest pyramids built in ancient Egypt, and they have historically been common as emblems of Ancient Egypt in the Western imagination. They were popularised in Hellenistic times, when the Great Pyramid was listed by Antipater of Sidon as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It is by far the oldest of the Ancient Wonders and the only one still in existence.

Pyramids Hero, Tour guide Zero

The visiting of the pyramids and the sphinx was amazing and definitely the highlight of the trip. That being said there were some issues. Firstly, our tour language that we chose was English and we ended up on a tour of mainly French speakers, this became a problem when the tour guide spent most of his time speaking in French and then briefly spoke to us on a much less frequent basis. The drivers never introduced themselves to us, or let us know what was happening at all the stops along the way to Cairo. (regarding how long we have at stops) At one point I was told to get into another tour bus at 2:00am as we drove to a checkpoint separate from my partner with no explanation as to why. At the pyramids be prepared to tell a lot of people to leave you alone as they pressure you for money for photos or water. The Camel tour of the pyramids is approximately 30 mins (20 euro) but if you say no your tour guide will only give you 5 minutes for photos. Essentially if you do not pay for the extra parts of the tour your tour guide will not be interested in you. Which showed itself as he shouted that he will “leave us there” as we gave money to a man who took our photos, as this meant we were not paying him. He also was no where to be found for when we were told to “go and take pictures”. The extra shops are a way to try and squeeze more money out of you for overpriced drinks and perfume. On the way home we stopped for 1 bathroom break which lasted nearly an hour as the bus drivers went for dinner and didn’t tell us. Everyone was sat outside the bus with no information what was happening at this moment in time. Communication was ZERO but the pyramids were an amazing sight. Overall the day trip was 23hrs, being picked up at 12:30am and returning at 11pm. It took 9hrs to get to the pyramids. I’d recommend going to see these sights, but maybe a different tour company.

Alle top!

It was a beautiful trip. Starting with the two top bus drivers who have mastered all traffic situations professionally. Thank you! Big thanks also to our German-speaking tour guide Tamir, who passed on a lot of background knowledge to us in the Egyptian Museum and always supported us with advice and deeds during the pyramids and sphinx. Thank you for the perfect day!

Exceptional!!!

Undoubtedly, the best excursion of our stay! Indeed the places are breathtaking and full of stories, which our adorable guide saloa knows on his fingertips and takes pleasure in telling you! We were a little apprehensive about the ride, long enough still with three small children, but we were lucky enough to be accompanied by hakim and Ali, they are so kind and kind that I don’t even have the words to thank them enough! VIP escort! We were alone with our three children in the vehicle. The comfort of the latter is excellent, air conditioning, reclining seats, charging for phone, cooler ... and the most important thing is that in addition to being in good care with us they are excellent drivers! Essential in Egypt 😂! We had a great day with family! Thank you 3 😍

Check conditions, at the end you pay 100 per person at insane inflated entrance ticket charges

The travel description of this journey is close to fraud. Be cautious that you are aware that you only book for €40 transport, travel guide and meal. Even so entrance tickets for pyramids and museum are indicated as included on your travel confirmation, ithey are not. Those are charged to you at an inflated (more than double) price for 60 € and have to be paid mandatory, despite confirmed information you get with your booking information. With this, I am not saying, that the overall price would be insane, but you find definitely better offers at get your guide. Having spoken with Viator , they find this practice very normal. Just to let you know, for me it is close to fraud

Amazing day with pyramids

The Trip is long , for us it was 22h to get back to hotel, but it is so Worth it. Despite small tiredness at the end you feel great and well take care of from start in nice A/c minibus drove by 2 friendly drivers ( driving in Cairo requires great skills which they both for sure have). Through the Cairo guidance by Hannah (our tour guide for a day in our case) who was very knowledgeable about Egypt history describing nicely artefacts in museum and pyramids. She was also great advisor where to buy and where not the items indicating also rough price, when asked.( in Egypt there no set prices). The Pyramids are stunning and energy emanating from them is absolutely beautiful, despite big heat we felt great. Extra 10eur fee for camel ride was also worth it , to see panorama of pyramids alignment from the hill. Overall definitely very well organised trip , which can be a bit fast paced in museum but there is a lot to cover during the day. You feel safe and well informed during the visit. We have also met and share enjoyment of the trip with lovely people who also booked the trip , it was 8 of us in total in 13 person minivan. Thank you for vey nice experience , which we definitely recommend.

I had an unforgettable experience on the 1-day tour from Hurghada to Cairo, everything was impeccably organized. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, providing fascinating insights into the history of Egypt, especially when we visited the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. The drive was smooth and comfortable, and we were able to relax and enjoy the views along the way. We also had enough time to explore the Egyptian Museum, which was a highlight, showcasing the ancient treasures, including the incredible King Tutankhamun exhibit. Lunch was delicious, and the restaurant was perfect for a break before continuing the tour. The whole day was packed with excitement and learning, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend this tour for anyone looking to see Cairo’s top attractions in a day!
