Private Bekaa Valley Wine Tour | 3 Wineries · Guided from Beirut

Description
Lebanon has been making wine for over 6,000 years — longer than France, longer than Italy, longer than almost anywhere on earth. The Bekaa Valley, sitting at 1,000 metres above sea level between two mountain ranges, is where that ancient tradition lives today. This private guided tour from Beirut takes you to three of its most celebrated estates — Chateau Saint Thomas, Chateau Kefraya, and Chateau Ksara — for guided cellar tours and tastings that reveal the full depth and variety of what Lebanese wine can be. Three wineries. Three completely different stories. One private day in the valley that has been producing wine since before the birth of civilisation as we know it — with a professional guide who makes every cellar, every vintage, and every glass mean something.

Itinerary
9.00 AM — Departure from Beirut Your professional guide and driver collect you from your Beirut hotel and head east on the Damascus highway — climbing through the Lebanese mountains as the Bekaa Valley opens dramatically below, its vineyards and orchards stretching between two mountain ranges under the high Bekaa sun.
Begin at Chateau Saint Thomas — one of the Bekaa Valley's most respected family-owned estates, producing wines from vineyards sitting at over 1,000 metres altitude. The combination of high elevation, cool nights, and intense Bekaa sunshine creates growing conditions of remarkable complexity — producing wines that consistently punch above their weight on the international stage. The guided cellar tour takes you through the winemaking process from grape to bottle, and the tasting that follows showcases their acclaimed Cabernet Sauvignon, full-bodied red blends, and elegant whites that have earned medals at international competitions. A quietly impressive opening to the day — and a winery that often surprises visitors who arrive expecting something smaller.
Continue to Chateau Kefraya — one of the largest and most celebrated wine estates in Lebanon, with over 300 hectares of vineyards sprawling across the Bekaa plain. Kefraya is renowned for its flagship red blend Comte de M — widely considered one of the finest wines produced in the Middle East and a wine that has earned serious critical attention from international publications. The guided tour moves through the vast cellars and barrel rooms before a structured tasting that showcases the estate's full range — from the powerful Comte de M to the aromatic whites and the celebrated Muse rosé. For wine lovers, this is the Bekaa Valley at its most impressive.
The final winery is Chateau Ksara — the oldest and most storied in Lebanon, founded by Jesuit monks in 1857 and now the country's largest wine producer. The highlight here is unlike anything at the previous two estates — an extraordinary Roman cave cellar system stretching 2 kilometres beneath the winery, discovered by the Jesuits in the late 19th century and used ever since to age wine at a naturally constant temperature year-round. Walking through these ancient tunnels after a full day of Bekaa wine is one of the most memorable cellar experiences in the entire wine world — part archaeology, part sensory experience, entirely Lebanese. The tasting showcases Ksara's iconic Cabernet-Syrah blends, crisp Blanc de Blancs, and beloved Sunset Rosé to close a day that has taken you through three very different expressions of what the Bekaa can produce.
Lunch in Zahle — the Bride of the Bekaa End the day in Zahle — Lebanon's most celebrated food and wine destination, known as the Bride of the Bekaa. The famous restaurant terraces along the Bardawni River serve some of the finest Lebanese mezze in the country — generous spreads of cold and hot dishes, grilled meats, fresh bread, and local wine with the cool Bekaa mountain air and the sound of the river below. After three cellar tours and three tastings, lunch in Zahle is the only way the day should end.
Return to Beirut — approx. 5:30–6:00 PM Scenic drive back over the Lebanese mountains with drop-off at your Beirut hotel — completing a full day through three of the Bekaa Valley's finest wine estates and one of the world's oldest wine-producing regions.

Thank you, Joseph, for your kind words! We're thrilled you enjoyed the journey from city to mountain, the warm hospitality, and the delicious food. Your love for Lebanon shines through—long live Lebanon indeed! We hope to welcome you back soon for more unforgettable experiences.
We wanted to try some Lebanese wines and we weren’t disappointed! The tour company went out of their way to arrange some fantastic tastings with a range of Lebanese wine producers ranging from well known to up and coming. I can honestly say it was the best wine tasting experience I have ever had (and that’s saying something!). We also had some brilliant meals to go with the wine and learned so much about its production and the range of grapes grown in this amazing country. What’s more we also experienced the sights, sounds and history of Lebanon as we travelled safely with our amazing guide across the length and breadth of Lebanon. Our guide Albert couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating- nothing was too much trouble. Would I return? Yes and I urge anyone reading this review to make a booking now in the knowledge that they will have an experience they will never forget.

Lebanon Tours were first class from pick up at airport to deliver back, one week later. Hussein Abdullah, the manager, provided efficient and clear email correspondence when arranging the tour. Once in country, the company did exactly as promised - the full itinerary delivered with care & attention to details by Albert, our excellent guide. In fact we were welcomed by all Lebanese we met and the country and facilities were first class for tourism. Sunshine, wine, food and a welcome - what's not to like?

10 of us from the UK, members of a wine club, spent a week exploring Lebanon and it’s wine with Albert as our guide. We visited many vineyards both ones we knew and new ones. We received a first class service, with a real personal touch. The vineyards were really welcoming and gave us some truly memorable experiences. We were also treated to some of the most stunning ancient ruins I’ve ever seen and it was made all the more informative and entertaining by the local guides who took us round. The passion they had for their subject was fantastic . We were also treated to some amazing food both at some of the vineyards, restaurants and even a takeaway kebab in the Armenian quarter which was superb. We did so much in a relatively short time, but never felt rushed and had plenty of spare time to explore on our own. We all felt totally safe at all times. It really was a trip of a lifetime. Thanks to the boss Hussain, and his team , but especially to Albert, Mike and the other drivers. Lebanon and its people will stay in my heart for ever.

I have used Hussein twice now, both times I was very happy with the service and quality of drivers and guides. On tours to Baalbeck, Byblos and Tyr tour of main site was provided by actual archeologist who gave detailed descriptions of each site, this was included in tour price, amazing. Lunch provided daily was always of excellent standard and taste. Hotel booking and airport transfers were as promised, no problems at all. In total I did 7 small group tours and enjoyed every trip, the wine tasting at Ixsir and Musar was one of the best I have ever done and I have had many around the world. I have now visited 70 countries and Lebanon easily goes into my top 5, thanks in part to quality guided tours as well as the beautiful places. I am very happy to recommend this company to anyone fortunate enough to visit Lebanon.
