Private Beaujolais wine tour

Description
The day begins around 9.00am at your hotel, and we'll be travelling to the Beaujolais region to meet two wineries in the morning, where we'll visit the vines, the cellars and taste the wines (including 20th-century wine). At around 1 o'clock in the afternoon, we'll head to a magnificent spot in the heights of the Beaujolais region for a picnic. This moment will be dedicated to a tasting of wines from the 1960s to the present day, to cover the spectrum of the Gamay grape variety through time. The wines will be accompanied by a dozen cheeses and seasonal gourmet products. Last tasting of the day after lunch and before returning to Lyon. As a wine merchant, WSET3 graduate, I'll be joining you on the day to talk about French wine and its specific characteristics. A private chauffeur will drive us throughout the day. Tesla or Mercedes Class E for couples and Mercedes Class V Van for party of 3 or more. Wines can be bought and shipped to your home. Hugo from JEANGUYOT Wine Agency

Itinerary
First visit of the day to a Beaujolais winery. We make sure to choose a biodynamic, natural wine estate to start the day so that you can meet the current dynamics of Beaujolais, the new generation. The site is located in the heart of the 10 regional crus, including Fleurie, Morgon, Brouilly and Julienas . We'll spend around an hour with the winery, learning about its history and wines. Around 6 wines will be tasted, including an old vintage.
Second visit of the day to a Beaujolais winery. For this second visit, we're opting for a winery that works the vines and vinification as it did in the 1970s and 1980s. This will give you an insight into the differences between the successive generations in the Beaujolais region. The site is located in the heart of the 10 regional crus, including Fleurie, Morgon, Brouilly and Julienas . We'll spend around an hour with the winery, learning about its history and wines. It is a viewpoint at the top of a mountain, Mont Brouilly, which produces the Côte-de-Brouilly and Brouilly wines. It's a great way to understand why the Beaujolais terroirs are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Hugo was a perfect guide. He took us to three small houses and the winemakers were passionate about their wine and the Beaujolais terroir.
Beaujolais in August, Thank you.
We spent a couple of days with Hugo tasting wines in the Beaujolais and Northern Rhône regions. Hugo arranged the tastings in both regions in advance and did all of the driving. He also arranged lunch each day. All was easy to arrange--Hugo was communicative. He showed-up exactly on-time, and the tours involved what was promised. His car was clean, comfortable, and (importantly in August!) air-conditioned. It's a very professional operation. We asked Hugo to focus on smaller producers, and he followed-through on that request--we visited some tiny producers that were definitely off the beaten path. Many of our tastings were in tiny tasting rooms and/or wine caves. As a result, we got a great feel for the region and its tremendous history. It was awesome to speak with actual winemakers, instead of just tasting room employees. Hugo did a nice job translating when the winemaker's English was limited. The lunches that Hugo chose were great, too--excellent meals in charming establishments, especially a seasonal, garden-based restaurant in Beaujolais. Hugo himself is affable, humorous, and a good conversationalist.
I think that's you Mark, It's been a pleasure to spend these two days in your company, it brings back good memories. Hugo Jeanguyot
We took two tours with Lyon Private Tours—Northern Cote du Rhône with Nathalie and Beaujolais with Jeremie. Both were excellent, well-versed, thoughtful and insightful guides. We learned so much about the history, culture, food and wine of both regions. Jeremie booked a fantastic lunch for us each day—amazing food and wine! Can’t wait to go back to France and repeat our memorable experiences.
It was a beautiful autumn day. We hope to see you again to discover new French wine regions.
We had an incredible day in the Beaujolais region with Hugo! Everything was perfect — transportation, pace of each stop, quality of the itinerary. Hugo was a very informative and welcoming guide. The tour was the highlight of our trip in France. Would recommend to everyone!
Thank you very much, nice day in the Beaujolais. Hugo Jeanguyot
By far the best wine tour of our lives. The winemakers we met have delicious wines, they're passionate about their craft and eager to share their knowledge, we're far from an orchestrated visit. A key element of the day, given that we were a family of 5, Hugo suggested that rather than a traditional lunch, we opt for a picnic in the vines with a blind tasting of 6 wines from old vintages paired with local produce (cheeses, charcuterie, bread, truffle butter) of the highest quality. A memorable day to remember.
Merci Julie
Hugo put on an amazing tour for us, taking us to two biological (pesticide-free wineries) locations in the morning, a delicious lunch with an epic view, and a cool, local tasting room in the afternoon. Across the board, we enjoyed the entire trip and will happily be looking to book another trip with Hugo when we come back in the future.

We booked a private tour (2 of us) with Hugo and he took us to three amazing spots where we had several samples. Hugo is very knowledgeable and made us feel so welcome and a part of the experience. The views and the wine were fantastic. Lunch was incredible and he went out of his way to make sure we had a great experience every place we went. From the wine to the food to the conversation it was more than we could hope for. We loved it so much we booked another tour with Hugo the next night. Book this tour!
Was as you know a pleasure to share these two moments with both of you!
It was a pleasant and besutiful day!!! Ugo is a great guy who really loves what ge do… he took us first to a besutiful little church on top of a mountain where tou have a breathless view of Beaujolais and then visit two vineyards with interesting stories of their owners… had a great lunch and company!!!! Fully recommended
Thank you very much, a good day with you too.
The tour with Hugo was a fun-filled day of wine and food adventure! Hugo drove us to several vineyards, a Michelin star restaurant for lunch and then more vineyards! He also kindly gifted us a bottle of Cremant as he mentioned he wanted to take us to that vineyard but there was no availability on that day. Hugo was very knowledgeable despite his youth. He welcomed all questions and had a great sense of humor. Highly recommend!
A good day in the Beaujolais with you three Ojas, it was a pleasure, see you soon for another French region...
My friend and I loved our private wine tour experience with Hugo and his colleague, Pablo. Both were very knowledgeable, informative, and friendly -- Hugo definitely knows his wines (!) and answered all our questions! My favorite part besides the wine tours/tastings was simply being able to get outside the city and see the beautiful French countryside. We had an enjoyable lunch and it was great to meet each unique wine maker, see their property and learn about the extensive Beaujolais wine region. We loved getting to know Hugo and Pablo and their passion for wine is very evident. Wonderful experience and getting to make new friends who love wine and great food was a plus!
We loved it as well... was a perfect day
