Built in 1964 using Adobe brick, this museum epitomizes early California architecture. It houses an array of local history exhibits, including paintings and etchings. The courtyard, with two adobe structures from 1817 and a gift shop, is perfect for photography.
Built in 1923, Santa Barbara's City Hall is a testament to the Spanish Colonial Revival style. Adorned with hand-painted tiles and arches, it faces the Plaza de la Guerra, the city's ceremonial center. Notably, a landmark California Pepper Tree stands out front.
Erected in 1819 by Don Jose de la Guerra, this adobe was a pivotal hub in early Santa Barbara. Today, it's a town focal point, hosting annual Fiestas and open for weekend visits.
This architectural gem is second only to Santa Barbara's Mission in significance. A beacon of the Spanish Colonial Revival movement, it boasts a grand Roman arch and detailed tilework. Soon, we'll experience its mural room and panoramic views from the clock tower.
The Arlington Theatre in downtown Santa Barbara stands out with its towering structure and shaded arched paseo. Inside, it emulates a Spanish Village square with 3D facades and a starry vaulted roof, creating a captivating ambiance.
Since 1850, the Alameda parks have been central to downtown activities, hosting Summer Solstice and Earth Day events. They feature diverse trees, an 1880’s bandstand, and the popular "Kids’ World" playground. The third block, once the Mirasol Hotel, now boasts a botanical garden with a duck pond after a 1966 fire.
Formerly the site of the El Mirasol Hotel, this block now boasts a garden with a monarch-attracting butterfly meadow, a creek, stepping stones, and a large Australian Fig tree shading a turtle-populated duck pond.
Combining Streamline Moderne and Spanish styles, the Santa Barbara Post Office is captivating with its internal and external sculptures.

It’s an easy walk. Saw great buildings and architecture plus being a private tour has it’s advantages.
UCSB has got to be considered one of the most beautiful imaginable. If a person could afford to live there, it'd be a great place to live. I tell you and the people seem rather nice overall, especially the ones who are caring and kind and there was a lot of vegan options as well. Thank you!
