The history of the temple is unknown and it can be dated only by its architectural style, identical to Angkor Wat, so scholars assumed it was built during the reign of King Suryavarman II in the early 12th century.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING

I started my journey straight off with Panha who was my ride from the airport, speaking enroute to my accommodation he understood very early in the conversation (his English on point) exactly what I wanted from my 8 days in Siem Reap. Having done all the major temples previously his recommendations of different places couldn't have been better. I ended up spending over 3 days with Panha over the course of my time in Siem Reap. Travelling all over Cambodia visiting many off the beaten track temples. Not being the most confident solo traveller these experiences I wouldn't have had without his recommendations or assistance. He planned the days around what I was after, made the greatest suggestions and spent hours driving me around, not a complaint, with great conversation. Allowed me to take my time at all the places we visited. Never rushed but super informative on distances we needed to travel. He knows how long places take to get to and even when I suggested alternatives his knowledge around this was exact! even if it had been suggested by other locals differently. Trust me, take his word for time frames. He knows his stuff. The 3 days saw me visit Banteay Srei, Preah Vihear, Koh ker, Beng Mealea, Kulean Mountains among many other places. Some over 5 hours drive away from Siem Reap. Experiences I could have only hoped for! I can't recommend him highly enough and would highly suggest anyone heading that way look him up. A genuine decent guy none of the hard sell, reliable, informative, upfront and honest. His pricing extremely fair for the service he offered. Thanks again Panha for taking the time to show me these places and allowing a most memorable 40th.
