Our guide Andre was delightfully personable and extrmely well-informed about the history of Portos and Portugal. BUT - the tour was supposed to last 2.5 hours, which was already plenty long. At 7:15 pm, which was 15 minutes after the scheduled end time, Andre acknowledged that he was already running long… but still launched into a very long and detailed history of the Salazar dictatorship. The golden rule of public speaking and entertaining is always leave your audience wanting more; we were left feeling like we’d been taken hostage, and though we felt really guilty about walking out (without the chance to leave him a tip), we were too tired, hungry and overwhelmed to make it to the end.
This tour was both very informative and interesting. Our guide, Jorge, provided fascinating insights into the city’s history and took us to all the main landmarks. He is knowledgeable, engaging, and has a great sense of humor. Keep in mind that there is quite a bit of walking, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking for a quick yet comprehensive introduction to the
Meeting point turned out to be through a small park and across the road from where my confirmation email indicated. However the organisers phoned me when I hadn’t shown up and sent me details so I was able to join the tour.
Jorge was our guide, very informative happy to answer questions and all done with a sense of humour. The 2 and 3/4 hours passed quickly and we would thoroughly recommend
It is a no fee tour, so your tip decides the cost. We used the English language guide and our allocated Guide was André. He was really well informed and provided all the information required at each stop off point. His knowledge of Porto was excellent and he really got the group engaged with time for questions and photos each time we stopped. If you want to find your way around this great City would definitely recommend and if you are lucky enough to have André as your Guide it will definitely be worth what you decide to pay him. The Tour lasted around 3 hours so allow time and enjoy Porto it’s a great place to visit
Rita was very informative and friendly and she took us to the sights of Porto which we wished to see and where we plan to return to for a longer visit. Obrigado Rita!
Our guide Viktoria did a fantastic job of telling us about some history of Porto and Portugal. She made it entertaining, and we learned a lot.
This was an excellent tour! Ian was amazing. He told us so much history and information and was equally entertaining! The stops were great and not in the super hilly part of the city, so it's accessible to most. Bring your Euros to tip the guide since the tour itself doesn't cost much. Don't hesitate to book this even though the idea is that it's "free". Our group was a perfectly manageable size in the busy city. So happy we did this.
Excellent and comprehensive view of Porto. Well paced and interesting.
Diogo made Porto city come alive. He had our attention at all times and there was never a dull moment. He loves his city and his passion comes through as he talks about his city. You go Diogo! Very enjoyable tour.
