Mount Vesuvius (tickets and alpine guide in a small group included) : it is best known for its eruption in AD 79 that led to the burying and destruction of the Roman cities of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Oplontis and Stabiae. You will be able to visit the volcano, which reaches an altitude of 4,203-feet (1,281-meters). From there the crater can be reached on foot by using a path that is 0.75-miles (1,200-meters) long that takes you to the summit of the volcano.
Lunch and Wine Tasting (both included): In a local restaurant/winery on the slope of the Vesuvius Volcano on the terrace overlooking the Sea. Tasting menu includes: • Antipasto appetizer with local products: salami, provolone cheese, 'casatiello' (a local savory bread), and bruschetta with heirloom Piennolo tomatoes on bread baked in a wood-burning oven, paired with Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio Bianco DOP (100% Caprettone), Rosato (100% Piedirosso), and Rosso (100% Piedirosso). • Spaghetti made with durum wheat flour and tossed with a sauce made from heirloom Piennolo tomatoes and basil, paired with Lacryma Christi Riserva (80% Piedirosso and 20% Aglianico, aged in French oak barrels for 18 - 24 months). • Pastiera Napolitana, a traditional dessert featuring sweetened ricotta, candied fruit, and boiled wheat berries, paired with Capafresca Spumante Rosato (100% Aglianico) and Acquavite di Albicocche del Vesuvio, an apricot distillate. • Under 18 soft drinks instead wine.
You will enjoy the Pompeii Ruins Skip-The-Line Tickets with a local Expert Tour Guide (both included). Pompeii Ruins: Visiting Pompeii is not like a museum , is as live again in an ancient roman commercial town of 3 Km. Buildings, temples, shops catched in the time of the eruption. Pompeii was an ancient Roman town near modern Naples, where the common people went on holidays at the time of the ancient Rome. It was mostly destroyed and buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of volcanic ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.

Great driver. Dino was very professional. Wish he spoke more English but he did try. Great driving, especially when climbing Vesuvius. Not impressed with buffalo mozzarella but liked seeing the buffalo! Vesuvius was impressive. Vineyard and lunch excellent but too short. Needed more time for true experience and dessert! Pompeii tour was fabulous. Esther excellent. Drive back to Rome handled perfectly by Dino. Thank you for the experience.
Beautiful tour with Giovanni, who took such care of us and made everything more special and memorable! Strongly recommend, worth taking the private tour!!
This was a very memorable day for our family. I was worried that I had spent too much money on this tour but after pricing things out separately it was a fair deal. The day was fabulous! Our driver was prompt and thoughtful. We had a mozzarella tasting at a dairy. Delicious and unique. Kevin did a terrific job getting us around through narrow streets and up the volcano where there were lots of cars and chaos. We hiked up the volcano on a beautiful day with fabulous views. The lunch and wine tasting was delicious and it is my second time at cantina del Vesuvius. Great lunch! We had a wonderful tour of Pompeii wit Eduardo. Very fun and informative. My children who are in their twenties thought that this day was the best part of our trip. Thank-you for a great memory!
