Meet our English speaking assistant and our local expert guide at the Sorrento Circumvesuviana train station in Piazza Giovanni Battista De Curtis by the Steps on the Ground Floor. Our assistant will provide you the return train tickets for the local train ride (the ride takes approx 45 minutes). Visiting Pompeii, a Unesco World Heritage site takes you back to the past, it's a full immersion in the history.The local expert guide will take you around the ancient town of Pompeii for 2 hours, showing the main public monuments and some of the most famous Houses of Pompeii ruins. At the end of the tour you are free to return, or stay longer in Pompeii to explore further on you own.

A just right not to long experience. Lilly was a perfect guide with lot of knowledge and nice humour. We learned a lot and laughed a lot. I recommend this tour to everybody.
What made this so good was Gino our guide. Knowledgeable, witty and personable!! Recommended!! Train was crowded but got a seat. Easy meeting up.
We had an excellent experience on this Pompeii tour and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The meeting point was very easy to find, and the introduction from our guide, Lillyane, was clear and informative. She explained exactly what would happen throughout the day, including the train journey to Pompeii, which made everything feel very well organised and stress-free. Lillyane was incredibly knowledgeable about Pompeii and brought the history to life with fascinating stories and insights. She also had a great sense of humour, which kept the group engaged and helped make the experience enjoyable despite the extremely hot weather. The tour was well paced, with plenty of time to view the key artefacts and landmarks that were pointed out along the way. There were also opportunities to take breaks in the shade when needed, which were very much appreciated on such a warm day. I would definitely recommend this tour and experience. Exploring Pompeii with an expert guide gave us a much deeper understanding of the site and ensured we didn't miss any of the most important locations. It was far more rewarding than trying to walk around Pompeii on our own without knowing the history or where to go.
Our guide was excellent (unfortunate we forgot her name). However, she provided outstanding customer service with a genuine smile. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Pompeii, as well as helpful and friendly throughout our experience.
If you are going to Pompeii, go on one of the air conditioned minibus tours. Not this one! At least on the mini bus you get to see some lovely views. Having spent nearly 30 minutes waiting on what can only be described as a 1940’s train (rock hard seats, no air conditioning and tatty) the driver finally decided to leave. After 40 minutes of being in this mobile sauna, which was enough for most of our party, we finally arrived at the station. Pompeii is very popular especially during the summer, we all know this, but why all the guides seem to follow the same route beats me. We spent much too long on some areas and didn’t see many of the others, including the colosseum. Yes you can choose to stay after the 2 hour tour (ours only lasted around one and a half hours) and have a look around yourself if you wish. Sitting on the platform waiting for the train back, reminded me of the scene from the Great Escape. If ever a film company needs a dated tatty station to film at, this is it. When the train did finally arrive it was a more modern one with air conditioning, but needless to say it was packed. In conclusion, Pompeii is a must see when in the area but choose carefully how/when you get there.
Our tour guide , Chiaia (apologies if the spelling is incorrect) was charming and highly knowledgeable, she was also amusing and very patient. It was the perfect balance of educational and entertaining! She also made sure we had mini breaks to refresh ourselves and recharge our energies! Highly recommend this experience for anyone who wants to travel back in time. 5 stars!
We signed up for a 2 hour express tour of Pompeii - we didn't think we'd be able to cope with a longer tour given the heat. The meeting point at Sorrento train station was well organised; the train was busy and hot - there was no air-conditioning. Gino, our guide, was great. He gave us clear instructions throughout the trip. He was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Pompeii, the layout of Pompeii etc. He also had a great sense of humour. I loved the fact that he bought dry cat food with him to feed the cats wandering around Pompeii! We couldn't have wished for a better guide. Thank you Gino!
Great experience and history lesson for the whole family! A stunning outdoor museum that takes you back millennia. Gino was an extremely knowledgeable and engaging guide. He was also very charming and funny.

Our tour guide Gino was brilliant gave us lots of interesting facts and made the tour more enjoyable with his whit and humour. The train to Pompeii was fine however was very busy on way back to sorrento so be prepared to stand for the 40 minute journey. Overall great value for money and a great tour of Pompeii
