I am sure the tour would be great. The tour ad went from 'likely to sell out' and late the night before I received a notice that the trip was cancelled. So I never got to Plovidv or Bachkovo. Disappointed part of my trip to Bulgaria.
we went with Mariya to the monastery and then to the city - excellent decision to avoid the morning mist in Plovdiv. The guide gave a good history and geology of the region. we enjoyed the trip and highly recommend the trip.
This City is full of history, and Character, the amazing Amphitheatre with the views that are breathtaking, you must visit this incredible place when you are in Bulgaria

Outstanding guide. She was also our guide the following day inMacadonia. Plovdiv sould not be missed Lots oh cobble stones and hills.

We had a very knowledgeable guide named Todor. Highly recommended.

This tour was awful. Tour guide was good driver but awful tour guide. No knowledge of even basic facts. I could have given the tour
and I had never been there. No explanations, no direction, had to get someone to tell her what basic monuments were to explain
it to uspoor elementary explanations - this is the clock tower, I had never noticed it before. would not recommend, get another
tour company. Just awful!

Fantastic experience. Beautiful city and monastery, great guide. A must do for everyone visiting this region.

Our day trip to Plovdiv was a big success. The guide, Todor, was very knowledgeable as he led us through the old city of Tremontium visiting several Roman sites. He also accommodated variations on the itinerary such as adding a tour of the Ethnographic museum. He took us to a good restaurant and, after lunch, on a comprehensive tour of Bachkovo Monastery. There he regaled us with an in-depth history of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church and showing us some beautiful frescoes and mosaics - some of which were not open to the public. Overall, my son and I really enjoyed the experience and we learned a lot. Thank you Todor and Viator!
Charles

Very interesting - learned a lot about Bulgaria and its significant role in the Byzantine Empire. Lots of walking - be sure you have good walking shoes. Roman ruins very interesting - the theater made it all worthwhile. The monastery was OK, the Rila Monastery was a better choice.

The guide was native greek speaking! He was great driver and very informative the whole day! It was an excellent guide and highly recommended. Thank you to the travel agency for the organization !
