Itinerary
Your tour of Pisa begins at Piazza del Duomo just outside the Porta Nuova where you will meet your local guide. You will learn about the history of the place, how this square was built with its prominent monuments such as the Cathedral, Baptistery, Monumental Cemetery, and of course the Leaning Tower and the mysterious cause of its inclination. From here we will move on to discover the rest of the city, which has much to offer besides its iconic tower. We will stop at a local pastry shop to break up the morning with a sweet Pisan-style breakfast. (In some days of the year the breakfast will be substitute with artisan gelato)
We will continue our tour by going to discover the medieval quarter with the fascinating Piazza dei Cavalieri that houses one of the most important universities in the world in addition to the wonderful palaces and churches that hide interesting stories and anecdotes
We will then reach the popular heart of the city with its fruit and vegetable market that gives a lively atmosphere. We will stroll under Pisa's characteristic arcades where merchants once sold their wares and which now houses numerous stores and bars.
We will then have reached the Arno River, which is one of the most interesting areas of the city with its noble palaces, bridges, churches and breathtaking views. You will also learn about the folkloric side of the city, which right here organizes tournaments and medival events that take Pisa back to its glorious past as a Maritime Republic. A quick look also at the southern quarter of the city just before relaxing and enjoying a delicious sandwich and a glass of wine at a local wine shop overlooking the river. Cheers

After an initial hiccup with the meeting location we met Antonella our guide who was wonderful. If using Viator, the directions provided by them are incorrect. Antonella was very interesting and informative. The tour was everything and more, that we hoped it would be. Highly recommend.
It was raining today but Toni made it fun. Very informative. The infamous Pisa Leaning Tower mystery is now answered for me. It was just enough history and light food for us. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Antonella was a wonderful guide. Our time in Pisa was wonderful! We learned so much about Pisa’s rich history.
We had a wonderful tour with our family. She kept it fun and engaging and told us some relevant things about the area and where our ancestors came from. Highly recommend!
Antonia was an amazing guide. Friendly and very informative. The tour was great for learning history of Pisa and the little food stops were great. A wonderful few hours spent

Dear Nicole, your feedback made my day!! It's import to know also that you had a good time with our Antonella. We really appreciated. A big hug from Tuscany!
AMAZING! Cannot recommend this tour and our guide Marta, enough. We learnt so much about the architecture, history and food. Book it, you won’t regret it.
My sister and I were the only ones booked on the tour so we had the wonderful Antonella to ourselves! She was FANTASTIC! So knowledgeable about Pisa, its history, the monuments, the culture. We learned so much! We met near the Piazza dei Miracoli and learned about the main monuments before going to a delightful cafe for breakfast - the most delicious coffee and typical pastry. We then continued our tour, ending near the river where we had a traditional sandwich and a gorgeous large glass of wine! Antonella was also kind enough to give us lots of fantastic recommendations for our stay - the best restaurants, ice cream shops and cafes. I would highly recommend this tour. It is not cheap compared with some, but I felt it was good value for money and a morning really well spent!
