The only Food and photography expert-led PINTXO TOUR in Bilbao. Join me for a walking, photographing, eating & drinking experience you'll never forget! We'll visit 5 different bars for a glass & a pintxo (sophisticated Basque tapa) at each one. It's a full meal & exactly what the locals like to do. You'll BE A LOCAL with me! Along the route, I'll show you the sites & tell you about the history & culture of the Basque Country, we will visit the RIBERA MARKET but my focus is definitely on FOOD & DRINK. My route & the menu changes daily, but we'll do a mix from the traditional to the modern. Expect to eat anchovies, octopus, bacalao in pil-pil sauce, squid, foie gras, local cheese... and ending of course, with a traditional dessert. Thirsty? I'm great at pairing the perfect pour with the perfect plate, from local ciders to white wine (txakoli), young & aged Tempranillo from La Rioja, beer & beyond maybe we'll dip into some vermouth too? Or want to try our local drink Kalimotxo?

After our other food tour was canceled due to low attendance, my wife and I found Oihana, and I’m so glad the first tour fell through because this turned out to be one of our favorite experiences in Bilbao. Oihana was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, making us feel like we were exploring the city with a good friend. We visited several spots to try different pintxos, and Oihana made sure the experience felt personalized just for us. She even encouraged us to try the “original” pintxo with an olive, anchovy, and guindilla pepper. Normally, I don’t like olives or anchovies, but this one completely won me over, and I’ve been thinking about it ever since we left. By the end of the tour, we were happily stuffed with food and drinks, and Oihana even sent us off with some sweets. Along the way, we also learned so much about Bilbao’s rich history. It felt like you were walking around the city with a friend. I cannot recommend Oihana enough. If you’re in Bilbao and looking for a food and drink tour, this is an absolute must! You won’t be disappointed!

We loved our food tour with Oihana! She was a very fun and knowledgeable guide, and took us to fun spots with delicious pintxos. Bilbao was very crowded with a big match that night, and she navigated the crowds and bars like a pro. We were grateful that she and the bars accommodated two in our group who needed to be gluten free due to celiac disease. They loved their pintxos, which were just as creative and delicious as ours. We knew the bars could not guarantee no cross-contamination without dedicated kitchens- that is common, and neither of them got sick. Thanks again Oihana- we definitely reach out if we visit Bilbao again!

The main reason for my trip to Bilbao was the rich cuisine of the Basque Country. Oihana’s tour exceeded my lofty expectations.
