Itinerary
Enjoy a guided New Norcia town tour with a local guide and learn about the history of Australia's only Benedictine Monastery town.
A little piece of Spain comes alive in this town, full of history, art and architecture. The town’s main attraction is the museum and art gallery. In the museum you will find extraordinary artifacts dating back to when New Norcia was an Aboriginal mission, a hub for farming and a diverse town for education and culture.
These mystical limestone formations make up one of Australia’s most unique landscapes, rising eerily out of the sand and reaching up to several metres tall. See the Pinnacles from the lookout over the park or take a guided walk through these amazing spires. If time permits be sure to make a visit to the Pinnacle Desert Discovery Centre to discover even more about these natural wonders.

It was very informative & interesting. The places were very beautiful . Architecture was amazing and unimaginable that it could be accomplished at that time without modern technology.
The whole day was fascinating New Norcia unbelievable story is worth hearing Don't know what I expected at The Pinaccles but it wasn't what I saw That is a sight to behold Driver wonderful and went out of his way to drop me close to my accommodation Great day
A wonderful day. New Norcia is a place not to be missed. Extremely interesting. Pick up and transfers all good. 11 hour day. Morning tea & lovely lunch included. Pinnacles were fascinating also. Unfortunately we had a group of six non speaking English Italians that spoke very loudly during the talks making it very difficult to hear a lot of what was said. We spoke to the driver he said there was nothing he could do. To be honest he didn’t seem to care. This was very disappointing
Both the Abbey 'experience' and the Pinnacles were fantastic. Lunch meal could have been more enticing e.g. add a salad with the fish and chips perhaps.
The trip was fine and the meal at New Norcia extremely good. We would have liked a little more time at the Pinnacles, but understand the situation. Our driver Luke made the trip very interesting with his anecdotes
Thank you for taking the time to review our tour, and it is great to hear that you enjoyed the commentary from our driver Luke. We pride ourselves on the information our drivers have to share, and the experience they are able to provide. We are also glad to hear that your meal in New Norcia was a highlight, and we hope to welcome you onboard our tour again soon. Regarding the Pinnacles Desert, we will review our timings for this tour, and see if any adjustment to our schedule can be made to accommodate more time there in the future. Thank you again for taking the time to review our service.
Transparency and openness regarding the historical abuse and suffering at New Norcia and the lack of compensation to victims.
If you are after a Pinnacles Dessert Tour try a different tour option, you are at the Pinnacles for less than one hour definitely not enough time to look around. Some may find the New Norcia Tour appealing others will form a different opinion. You travel on the coach for many hours going out of your way to visit New Norcia then head back to the coast line to visit the Pinnacles which makes it a long day.
New Norcia and Pinnacles were good. Wildflowers were a disappointment. Better to see Wilflowers for free at Perth Botannical Gardens near Kings Park.
We had an early start to our tour of the diverse landscapes and rich Aboriginal and European history. The onboard commentary from our guide was excellent, and made our first stop at New Norcia. We heard about the history of the town, which was first established in 1846 as a mission to the Aboriginal community and is home to Australia’s only Benedictine Abbey. We toured the town with a local guide, and visited a museum housing gifts presented to the abbey from various popes and Spanish royalty. Here you could purchase unique goods handmade by the monastery, such as olive oil, nut cake, fruit wine and fresh-baked bread followed by a Fish and Chips lunch at the New Norcia Hotel. We then visited the Western Wildflower Farm for a brief educational talk about wildflowers. We then experienced the great otherworldly landscape of Pinnacles Desert in Nambung National Park, where we walked among the mystical limestone stacks scattered throughout sandy dunes. We were there late afternoon when the sun was low, which added to the colorful mystique of this very special place. . This was followed by a restful return drive down the coast to Perth, where our full-day tour concludes in the evening. A very enjoyable day.

We had a wonderful time on this tour from start to finish. A very family oriented tour suitable for all age group. The driver/tour guide Tomas is professional and handled unforeseen circumstance well our coach air-con spoiled!!. The lunch at the New Norcia Hotel is awesome, tasty fish and chips. The wildflower trip could have been better if it's the right season to visit.
