Itinerary
Canoe first island and explore 1-2 caves and hongs A "hong" – the Thai word for “room” – is actually a collapsed cave systems in the interior of each island in Phang Nga Bay, only accessed by tough, purpose-designed inflatable canoes through sea caves at low tide. Open to the sky and filled with jungle flora and fauna, the hongs conceal a unique eco-system with monkeys, birds, fish and complete quiet, except for the twittering of birds. Local operators have so far gained access to dozens of hongs between Phang Nga and Krabi to the south, which you can visit and enjoy on a Phuket kayaking trip. Each hong tends to have its own distinct character, and it's easy to spend days, even a week, visiting island after island.
Thai seafood buffet dinner during Phang Nga Bay Sunset.
- Make your own Krathong & have dinner on the boat - Float the self-made Krathong in the cave of Phanak Island - See phosphorescent plankton - Kayak in Panak Cave Loy Krathong Day is one of the most popular festivals of Thailand celebrated annually on the Full-Moon Day of the Twelfth Lunar Month. It takes place at a time when the weather is fine as the rainy season is over and there is a high water level all over the country. The word “Loy” means “to float”, and “Krathong” means lotus-shaped vessel made of banana leaves. Loy Krathong is, therefore the floating of an illuminated leaf bowl. But nowadays some krathongs are made of coloured paper. A krathong usually contains a candle, three joss sticks, some flowers and coins.

This trip was brilliant!! We did a similar one with a different operator on a speedboat and it was terrible. There was plenty of room on the boat, NOT squashed in with too many other people. Food was great , local staff were brilliant and the caves were stunning. Great starlight tour
Staff where great, food amazing, kayak guides fun and so talented with their rowing. Fun making the flowers with tiny birds and host Mr Yau (U) great. Boat was lovely, comfortable and smooth crossing. Not over crowded 👌❤️😁. 5 🌟 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This tour was awesome! It was a great mix of leisure and activity, where we had some time to relax on the big boat and then got out on the kayaks to explore and swim in some areas. You have a guide on the back of your kayak that will paddle you through the caves. Our favorite part was our guide Bookie!! He was so funny and made the trip so memorable for us. Highly recommend this tour!
I love this trip. I have done it a few times now & also taken my children when they were younger. John Gray Hong By Starlight is a fantastic experience & highly recommend however this is the first & last time I will book through this site. Luckily for us, our local guide checked our booking before organising our transport to the pier & they had no knowledge of it although we had already paid. The site noted a 500 Thb per person each way for transfer from Khao Lak but once booked, the confirmation email stated 1500 Thb pp each way. Luckily we had a very reliable & helpful guide who took care of it all for us & half the price.
Absolutely fantastic day trip. Stunning scenery and saw wild monkeys. The lagoons, mangroves, and caves were beautiful. Our guide Adam was so knowledgeable and funny - “The man with the golden paddle” in Hong Island. Brilliant!
Very nice, relaxing trip. Small group (40 people). When you get to the Hongs, the rest of the tourist stream has almost disappeared. Only a few isolated ones remain. The trip was very well planned. There was plenty of very good food from the small buffet (freshly prepared on board). Very tasty! (Lunch, coffee and cake with fruit, dinner and dessert) I can only praise John Gray (the provider in Thailand).
Experienced, friendly, kind staff. Very professional, extremely well organised tour. Food was to die for! 3rd time for us& we will return again💜
Great experience. Lovely, knowledgeable guides and delicious food. The night time flower ceremony and seeing the glowing plankton was magical. Charlie our guide was a star!
I and my family love to go out to sea and have been to Buji more than 10 times. This was one of the most satisfying sea trips we have ever taken. The choice of the excursion to Buji Sea is very large, we considered that the travelers have older and young children, and ultimately chose a trip that does not require too much rush and physical effort. Although the price is more expensive than the outside but very worth it. The entire team's staff in different locations are well filmed and very efficient. English communication is fluent and professional. Highly recommended!
Finally we were not able to make this excursion because there was no room (even though we had paid and received the confirmation email). The agency contacted us via WhatsApp to find another excursion of the same kind and offered us another big boat excursion, top! Beautiful landscapes team on board at the top. I recommend
