Lovely return ferry trip to Rottnest Island. Friendly staff and great commentary as we travelled along the Swan River. Enjoyed a wine & beer on the return leg - good selection and a nice way to watch the sunset as we cruised into Perth.
Thank you for the wonderful review. We're so pleased to hear you enjoyed your return ferry journey to Rottnest Island, along with the commentary and friendly service from our crew. Thank you for travelling with Sealink.
Fabulous place to visit. We hired electric bikes on the island and made a full cycle round the whole island. The bikes were great, but somewhat expensive. Very beautiful place, rich in history and culture, with plenty to see. Fabulous beaches and the Quakkas are very time l take near the main visitor centre. The staff on board the ferry were great too. Highly recommended.
Wow what an awesome review! So glad you enjoyed your day on the Island and traveling with SeaLink.
It is a straightforward ferry trip along the beautiful Swan river towards Rottnest Island. The captain spoke and told us some nuggets of trivia along the features of the river. Upon docking at Rottnest Island, you are free to roam the island so take note and do not be mistaken there is no tour or bus to bring you around. I loved the island and the beaches and wonderfully adorable quokkas. Would book again for the convenience!
Hi Glen, Sounds like you had a wonderful day on the Island - we are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed our Perth to Rottnest service. Next time you could try the hop on / hop off bus or one of the bus tours around the Island. You can pre-book these with us at SeaLink or book direct once you get to the Island. Thanks again!
Awesome trip. Got a bike. Cycled around. Best way of seeing island.
We agree, a bike is the best way to explore Rottnest Island. Thank you for choosing to travel with SeaLink.
Easy booking, lovely staff. Beautiful scenery. We actually took the ferry from Perth to Rottnest then back to Fremantle. It was very rough on the way there and the staff made us very comfortable, even giving out zooper doopers once it was calm.
Sounds just brilliant, thanks for your feedback and for choosing to travel with SeaLink. Great to hear that you enjoyed the zooper doopers too!
On time departure and friendly crew.
Great to hear, thank you!
Very easy with professional staff who were polite and professional.
Excellent to hear, thanks so much for your review!
A stress less fairy ride to Rottnest Island. Disappointed in Rottnest with the commercial influence, too much. Poor Quokkas.
Thank you Narelle, pleased to hear that you enjoyed your ferry ride with SeaLink!
We booked the SeaLink ferry from Perth to Thompson Bay return with a bike hire. We thoroughly enjoyed the slow cruise down the Swan River and then things got a little rough across the straight but the catamaran moves along quite quickly and it only takes 30 minutes. The crew was all very friendly and chill, bike pickup was painless and bikes were in good working order but have relatively small wheels and only 8 speeds. We cycled all the way around the island including out to Cathedral Rock and clocked 28km. We are fit, but still found the cycling quite hard to due limited gears on bikes, wind, and constantly rolling terrain. Factor in most people are also packing various amount of gear as well. I would rate the cycling as moderate and it was only 23' today, if it was 30' the majority of people would not be able to complete this entire loop. The other issue with Rotto is, although there are an unlimited number of beautiful beaches, virtually none have change rooms, showers, or drinking water. This make the logistics of cycling and snorkeling tricky. I would suggest pick your activity, either you cycle or you snorkel but not both. If you want to snorkel just forget bicycles and just ride the trolley busses with all your gear.
Thanks so much for your detailed review - and what a great suggestion. We agree, cycling all the way around the island can take a lot more energy and effort than some people realise. Pick your option or ride to snorkel at some the beautiful bays closer to the main settlement.
It was easy to book and they offered ferry tickets when everyone else was sold out. Easy to download tickets with clear instructions. The return time on the ticket wasn’t included so we had to ask about that, but it was fine.
Great to hear, thanks so much Katelyn, we hope you had a great day on Rotto!
