My boys and I joined Marco for this hike and had an incredible experience! Marco was very knowledgeable and we were even able to jog the last part of it. I highly recommend

Grazie mille Kevin Gentilissimo
Fantastic hike with Enrico! We hired a private driver to take us from Sorrento to the meeting place in Bomerano which was very convenient. Enrico showed us where we could use the bathroom before the hike since there aren’t services along the way until reaching Nocelle. I was concerned about the weather because rain was forecast and there is a lot of information on the internet stating that the hike is dangerous in the rain. Also, several people from Sorrento we spoke with also advised against hiking in rainy conditions. The tour manager (cartotrekking.com) provided reassurance that the trek would be safe and if the conditions were unsuitable the hike would be cancelled for full refund. It was the only day we could do the hike so we took the chance, and we are SO glad that we did! Enrico explained the municipalities have been improving the trail, and since then the trail remains very reasonable regardless of rain. We all wore sneakers with good grips, had raincoats with hoods, and brought water bottles. The trail was a bit sandy so our sneakers will need to be washed, but it was not very muddy. Some of the trail now has wooden handrails, and none of it required us to climb. Enrico said the trail is challenging in the heat, and we found the benefit of the rain was cooler temperatures and less crowds. Enrico was very friendly, knowledgeable, and shared about the area including native plants. He made sure to warn us when the footing was potentially slippery and got us to the restaurant in Montepertuso on time for our lunch reservation, without us ever feeling rushed and allowing us to take our time. I appreciated he offered to take pictures for us and he knew the best spots to do so. The weather ranged from cold and rainy to hot and sunny within the almost 4 hours of our hike. The clouds parted in time for us to have amazing views of Praiano, Capri, and Positano! We appreciated having a guide with us although experienced hikers would have no difficulty as the trail is well marked. Enrico made the day that much more enjoyable for us!
Thank you so much for the wonderful review. Enrico also thanks you and wants to let you know that he was very pleased with your kind words.
Vincenzo was excellent from start to finish. We met in Agerola on time, and he led us to a bathroom before starting the trek and made sure that we had enough water. We then started on the ~3hr20min hike on Path of the Gods toward Sorrento. Throughout the hike, he had a number of interesting facts, stories, and photos to share with us about the region and the path. He told us about the local plants, we saw sheep and goats, and he answered any questions we had along the way. After a short bus-ride to Sorrento, he showed us the way to where we had a car scheduled to take us back home, as well as some of the local sights. Thank you Vincenzo - would recommend to anyone!
This was a special day! Thanks to Marco! We started the March day in a pretty steady rain after a fabulous espresso at a local shop. We were admittedly a bit worried it could be too wet and foggy to enjoy. Marco was encouraging but also planned for a bail out if needed. It was not needed at all! In fact, the rain soon let up and rewarded us with incredible views that were punctuated with rising clouds and fog with dramatic views! Marcos is an incredible guide with intimate knowledge of the flora and fauna, geology, and history of the Amalfi coast. He described the path as his office. It’s more like his living room. Thanks Marco for such a special day and your care for us!
Enzo- our tour guide was wonderful and well informed. It had been raining the day before as well as the morning of. Carotrekking and Enzo kept in touch with us the entire time and affirmed we were safe to do the hike. The morning of was raining very hard in Positano- I reached out at 7:30am and Enzo immediately responded- once again reassuring us we were okay, but that he understood if we wanted to cancel. We opted to trust him and went and it didn’t disappoint! In fact- it was to our benefit. We had the entire path to ourselves. Gorgeous views and felt safe. Thanks for a great 2.5 hour hike!
My daughter and I had a fantastic time. Highlight of our holiday and Vincenzo, our guide, was so helpful and informative.
This was a bucket list hike of mine. The hike is rated easy to moderate. I would disagree. It was hard. We live in the USA in a flat state. The hike was challenging with lots of upward inclines, some scrambles and often in the sun. I am 60 years old and work out daily but was not prepared for the intensity of the trail.I would do it again but with hiking shoes. We had gym shoes and hiking poles. The path is not very well marked. We were dropped off at the wrong starting point and ended up on another path which added 4 hours to the hike then it met up with the Path of Gods. There was a water stop plus 2 spots to buy lemonade or other drinks along the path. When you end in the town of Nocelle it is very confusing to get to Positano. To get to Positano you can walk down the 1800 steps and walk 1 km on Amalfi Drive or take a local bus. The local bus arrives in the parking lot above where the hike ends. You need to walk to the end of the path, walk along the sidewalk to the end and go up 90 stairs. The bus picked up at the end of the parking lot by the Lemon Point stand.
Thank you to Enzo for a wonderful morning hiking the Path of the Gods. Not only were the views beautiful but Enzo shared many local stories, personal anecdotes and the history of the region. We hiked with our two grown children, started in Agerola and finished near Nocelle. Mostly downhill, some rocky portions but not a taxing hike. Enzo dropped us off at a nearby spot for lunch which was a perfect and delicious ending to our day trip! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
We were scheduled with a tour company called Cartotreckking, our guides name was Vincenzo. He was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining, as well as attentive to all of our needs. Our tour included a stop for lunch with a shepherd - highly recommend this option as it was just what we needed 1/2 way through the hike! At the end of the hike Vincenzo helped us get on the Positano shuttle rather than take the 1700 stairs option. This was above and beyond his duty and much appreciated because the local Italian people pushed their way onto the shuttle like a mob, cutting in front of the tourists. Our situation was actually frightening and the bus driver had to scream at the people to control the crowd. Vincenzo politely explained that the locals feel overwhelmed with all the tourism. While the tour guides have training in customer service, the locals do not, and some protest by pushing their way in front of tourists. Be aware and prevent others from cutting in front of you!
