Parenzana is a unique cycling trail built on the route of a former narrow-gauge railway connecting Trieste and Poreč. Today, it takes you through Istria’s stunning landscapes—vineyards, olive groves, and hilltop towns like Motovun and Grožnjan. Riding through old tunnels and across historic viaducts, you’ll experience a blend of nature, history, and adventure. This is our starting point from which we head off to Parenzana trail.
Visits to the ˝town of artists˝. Ride through narrow cobbled streets filled with galleries and souvenir shops. Photo stop.
You will continue your route to Parenzana with a beautiful view to the Mirna valley. Through tunnels and bridges, the road will take you to Livade.
You will cross the Mirna River to reach the other side of the Mirna valley and climb towards Motovun, one of the most popular Istrian medieval towns. Here you will enjoy dining in a beautiful setting of a local tavern.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day with our guide Daniel. He was very friendly and interesting. The bikes were excellent, a lovely route, it was strenuous at times but well worth it. The food/wine at the restaurant at the end was delicious and with a lovely view. We would thoroughly recommend this trip.
What an incredible ride! Based on the rave reviews, we reached out to Danjel 6 months before our trip and he was very responsive in helping us plan our day. We travelled from Buje to Motovun along the Parenzana trail, and Danjel was the perfect guide with a great mix of working with each person's skill level, sharing with us the history and significance of the region, a great sense of humor, and flexibility in pick up and drop off spots that worked for our schedule. We rented one manual MTB and 3 E-MTB bikes, helmets included!
So glad we went on this. Great chance to see and learn about Istria and its beautiful countryside - which you'll miss out on if you don't leave the coast and beaches! Danijel is a very engaging and knowledgeable guide and also very helpful after I messed up the booking. Demanding enough to feel like you've got some exercise and earned the wonderful lunch and setting that concludes the tour!
