Description

This 50-minute Panorama Sightseeing Tour showcases Montréal from the St. Lawrence River. Cruise past the Victoria Bridge, the Biosphere and the St-Lambert Locks before stopping at the Lachine Rapids, one of the largest rapids in North America. This powerful stretch of river was encountered by early explorers such as Samuel de Champlain, who named it Sault Saint-Louis and recognized its importance long before canals existed. We are the only company that brings guests this close to the rapids, where you can also spot river wildlife such as herons, cormorants and other waterbirds in their natural habitat..

It was a vital passageway for First Nations long before European arrival, and later for great French explorers — sailing these same waters once navigated by Samuel de Champlain. Today, the rapids are also a rich natural habitat. Keep an eye out for seabirds, herons, cormorants, and birds of prey that hunt along the river, as well as fish species drawn to the fast-moving currents. With dramatic scenery, deep history, and thriving wildlife, this stop offers a rare and memorable perspective on Montréal’s river heritage.

Nice short river trip with knowledgable captain.

We ended being the only two folks on the tour but Tyler, our guide/captain, was very professional and friendly. It was a Monday after noon and a large group had just cancelled. The boat is able to get very close to the Biosphère as well as the base of all the bridges. As promised, you stay dry but go fast.

Great way to see the city!

From beginning to end, it was clear this is a well run organization. Safety vests were used and the boat was clean and well organized. The captain, Rafael, provided great information while steering through some choppy water. Everyone was kind and safety conscious. Would recommend to anyone!
