San Giovanni Rotondo has become a must for the faithful from all over the world. The greatest attraction of this town is the small convent of Padre Pio, located in the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie. Inside this church you will find the crypt and a small museum that collects the remains of San Pio and reconstructs his life. Inside the museum you can visit the small cell where San Pio spent his life.
Originally built in 1540, the Capuchin Monastery is the site where the Saint lived from September, 1916 until his death in September 1968. It was here that Pio received the stigmata in 1918, and where all those supernatural events that led to his sainthood and canonization took place as well. Visiting this Monastery and viewing the chambers where St. Pio conducted his life means jumping into a context of spirituality and mysticism; it is a destination that the devout and tourists alike should make every effort to visit.

Simple, local restaurant with the best burrata ever. This place had lots of local people and their families eating in it and the food was really good. This is not 'fine dining' but this is a really good dining experience, I had the burrata and also the octopus, both of which were brilliant.

Visiting the places where St. Pius lived I felt a sense of serenity and peace. It was beautiful and I didn't think I would find such a deep and mystical place.
