Itinerary
We make our first stop at Midhope Castle, aka Lallybroch - home to Jamie Fraser.
We then visit Doune Castle, one of Scotland’s best preserved medieval castles and used as the setting for Castle Leoch in Outlander. You’ll have time to explore this historic stronghold.
Our journey takes us on to the Kingdom of Fife, an area of great historical importance and the ancestral home of Scottish monarchs. We make a stop at Culross, where Claire was accused of witchcraft in the village of ‘Cranesmuir’. This charming village is the most complete example of a 17th and 18th century burgh in Scotland today.
After lunch we will continue to the village of Falkland, used for filming 1940’s Inverness. With over 28 listed buildings it gives a good representation of this period.
Our final stop is at Blackness Castle, the 15th century fortress use to represent Fort William in the show.

Great day and Ryan was an amazing guide
It was a wonderful trip! We’ve seen many interesting places from the Outlander Series and that’s what we aspected, but the best was our Tour Guide Paul, who told us so many stories about the Scottish History, Habits and Culture, accompanied by Scottish music and Scottish sayings, those nine hours flew by in a flash. Absolutly fantastic!!!

Outlander Film Locations Day Trip from Edinburgh Edinburgh Laurie Meets Jamie! 1062975729 Terrific tour. Our driver/guide, Laurie, was very entertaining and a skilled driver. She kept it fun and on time. Thank you Laurie!
Lord Torva is very nice and entertains well. The last stop (Blackness) was made in half an hour because the castle was closing; it would be worth staying at least an hour, as it is very large. Aside from this, everything was well organized.
Lord Torva was an excellent guide, friendly and kind. The places are magnificent and the castles spectacular, especially the last one, Blackness.
Lord Farquad...also known as Tovar was the best! From the history to the personal stories, from beginning to end it was enjoyable. Its a long tour and well worth the money! If you are an Outlander fan you will not be disappointed!
