Akershus Fortress is a medieval fortress turned Renaissance royal residence by King Christian IV in the 1600s. From here, you can enjoy a view of the spectacular Oslo fjord.
The name Bankplassen (The Bank Square) indicates that this is where the Bank of Norway was once located.
Christiania torv is named after the previous name for Oslo, Christiania. The area is today known as Kvadraturen ("The Quadrature") because of the rectangular street pattern of Christian IV's Renaissance town.

Worth visiting Vigeland Park ;would have rather spent more time there City tour was average ; not nearly as interesting

Great tour lead by Romy. Included major points of interest with recommendations for further exploring. Lots of info about the city and lifestyle here. Fallen in love with Oslo. Feels similar to home (Auckland, NZ) but winters are a deterent, we dont get so cold.
