Explore the historic campus of the University of Oslo, home to Norway’s oldest and most prestigious university. Hear about its role in education, its beautiful neoclassical architecture, and how this location once hosted the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony. A great mix of culture, history, and academic pride!
Learn about Gunnar Sønsteby, Norway’s most decorated war hero, who bravely resisted the Nazi occupation during WWII. Standing near his statue, we’ll share the incredible story of his courage, clever tactics, and legacy as a symbol of Norwegian freedom and resistance.
Admire the grand National Theatre, a centerpiece of Oslo’s cultural life. Discover its rich history, the famous playwrights it honors, like Henrik Ibsen, and its role in shaping Norwegian performing arts. A must see for lovers of drama, history, and beautiful architecture!
Discover Oslo City Hall, where the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded each year. Its striking architecture and rich murals tell the story of Norway’s history, culture, and everyday life. A true symbol of civic pride and global peace.
Explore Oslo’s historic core with a stop at Akershus Fortress, a medieval castle overlooking the harbor that once protected the city and housed royals. Just nearby, we’ll visit Christiania Torv, the old town square where King Christian IV famously decided to rebuild Oslo after the 1624 fire. These iconic sites offer the perfect mix of panoramic views, local legends, and fascinating stories from Oslo’s past.
At Bankplassen, you’ll step into a square rich with Oslo’s layered history. Once home to the city’s first restaurant, an early theater, and even an orphanage, this quiet corner reveals stories from a very different Oslo. Surrounded by elegant 19th-century buildings, including the old bank, it’s a place where everyday life met art, care, and community.
From the city center, enjoy sweeping views toward Ekeberg Park, home to forest trails and thought-provoking sculptures. We pass by the modern Munch Museum, dedicated to Norway’s most iconic artist, and the striking Oslo Opera House, where architecture meets the sea. Right next door is the innovative Deichman Library, a cultural hub of knowledge and design. Don’t miss the unique floating sculpture in the fjord, a symbol of Oslo’s creative spirit blending art and nature.
Jerbanetorget is famously home to the iconic tiger sculpture, a striking symbol that instantly captures visitors’ attention. Located at the city’s main central station, it’s the vibrant heart of the city where locals and travelers converge. This lively square blends urban energy with artistic flair, making it a perfect spot to start exploring and feel the city’s pulse.
Domkirke stands proudly as the city’s majestic cathedral, a stunning blend of history, architecture, and spiritual significance. Located near the city center, it’s not just a place of worship but a cultural landmark where centuries of stories come alive through its intricate details and soaring spires. First and foremost, Eleanora is absolutely delightful! She possesses an ebullience and charm that makes you feel like you’re on a tour with an old friend. Coupled with her natural curiosity and passion for Oslo’s history and culture—this tour is an absolute MUST DO!
A wonderful morning spent with Nahuel and Eleanor strolling around the streets of Oslo and learning lots about the city's history and "fun facts". We only wish that we had taken this tour on our first day in Oslo, and then we could have taken advantage of all the local knowledge and suggestions of other places to enjoy in and around the city.
This was an excellent tour. Carlos shared his passion for Oslo history, architecture, and culture as well as answered all my questions. One of the best tours I’ve ever had and well worth the money. I’d heartily recommend this tour to anyone
We just had a tour with Nahuel and Eleonora and it was fantastic ! They shared their love for the city and nice historical and fun facts. We felt that we just spend a nice afternoon with some friends while learning a lot ! Gracias, grazie !
A wonderful tour. Eleanor and Nahuel were very knowledgeable and helpful. It was a very cold day, the streets were covered with snow but we didn't care. Two hours seems like 30 minutes and we learned a lot. Highly recommended!!
Eleonora was very nice and very helpful, it was nice to have a point of view of an Italian abroad who told the Norwegian culture. Highly recommended!
I don't know if the rain added a romantic touch to Oslo, but walking with the smile and enthusiasm of the guide made everything magical....
Positive experience with Eleonora and Nahuel of Itatina tour: the two young and enthusiastic guys show commitment and refinement. Appreciable also post tour tips!
EXCELLENT!! I can confidently say that this is the best tour I've taken since arriving in Northern Europe for three weeks. Itatina is the name of the company that offered the excursion, which was extremely informative on various topics, including a lot of history. They clearly explained the facts about each spot visited and answered every question. At the end of the excursion, the tour guide, who is the owner of the company, also offered many alternatives for visiting museums, hiking, and restaurants.
The free tour with Nahuel was incredible. We learned a lot about the history of Norway and the city of Oslo. Nahuel is a great communicator and makes the activity very enjoyable and dynamic. Without a doubt, the best free tour I've ever been on.
