We had a knowledgeable guide and the tour was well paced and not arduous. The wee coach is comfortable and the stops are well organised for group. A range of day trippers and island staying tourists.
The tour was more than expected. Our guide, Ron, knew just the right timing to get us places ahead of the crowds and gave us historical and archeological details that surpasses our expectations. The trip was personalized, with a comfortable van and flexible itinerary.
Super tour guide George, who always has a casual joke ready, but can also explain a lot and shines with knowledge. We enjoyed a very nice ride around the island with plenty of free time at the stops.
Doogie was such a friendly, caring guide, who was so very knowledgeable. He also listened as well as giving us all the interesting information. Also we were given choices as to different places to visit. Scara Brae was amazing , also the beautiful standing stones . We were very fortunate with the lovely warm weather today Thank you so much Dougie Bev and Gerry Joseph
This was an absolutely stunning and wonderful trip. Our driver and guide Doogie was wonderful. Very knowledgeable and pleasant and very accommodating. The weather cooperated 50% of the time. Sometimes it was pouring rain. Sometimes it was sunshine. We learned so much about the history of the Orkney islands and of Scotland in general. Our guide was not just taking us in the van, he walked through all of the places we went to and gave us much more information than we would have gotten - Had we just been doing it on our own. This is a tour that I absolutely highly recommend! If you can have Doogie take you, that would be an absolute benefit.
Great experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area and sites we visited. He did a terrific job of getting us to each site when it was less crowded making for a much better experience. We got to see all the sites on the itinerary with plenty of time at each to immerse ourselves and take pictures. There were only 8 of us on the tour which made for a less crowded experience in the van and at the sites we visited. All in all….highly recommended and good value for the cost.
An amazing tour with Tour Orkney. Ciaran was an excellent guide. We were on a Viking cruise and he picked us up at the port for the "Highlights Tour". It was a wonderful experience. We visited the Stones of Stenness, Ring of Brodgar, Skara Brae, the lovely Italian chapel, and St Magnus Cathedral, along with a few others. It was an incredible tour! Ciaran was a very knowledgeable local guide and we enjoyed our time with him. We had an outstanding day! I would highly recommend this tour!! Thanks Ciaran!
George was amazing. Such a lovely young man. His eagerness to share his knowledge of Orkney history had him stand out from other tour guides.
This was the perfect tour to experience the main sites of Orkney. We were met at the ferry terminal by our tour guide Dougie with a friendly welcome. The small size of the tour means you get a good opportunity to wander the sites and get to know your fellow travellers. I was amazed at Dougie's depth of knowledge of the area, historical and current. It gives you a perfect picture of how life on the island would have been and how it is now for it's inhabitants. He gave great recommendations for our stop in Kirkwall and the free time allowed us wander at our own pace. A perfect small size tour for those who do not have transport, enjoy an more intimate gathering and for learning about the island. Thanks Dougie, it was a perfect day exploring this magnificent island.
Unfortunately not a great day with weather - not your fault Guide not great knowledge - had some, but not really answering questions but very chatty particularly with the 2 passengers in front so not really talking with the rest of us Didn’t seem to hear anyone else’s questions from the back dog is sweet but was smelly if sitting in back seat
