Itinerary
Mother Teresa Memorial house was built not too far away from the place her original birth house was. There you will see some authentic artefacts from Mother Teresa's childhood, learn her early days story and be able to pay respect in the modern looking glass chapel on the second floor. We will take 3 hours and 30 minutes from this time by the transportation in route.
This is one of the symbols of Skopje, initially built in the end of 5th century AD during the ages rebuilt by different authorities, inclusive during the time of the Ottoman Empire domination. Beautiful peace of architecture, the KAMEN MOST neatly connects the new part of the city with the Old Bazaar and while walking across the river the bridge certainly introduces us to what we should await for.
The "STARA CHARSHIYA" still looks quite authentic no matter it is functioning during 21st century - you will take a nice walk surrounded by smaller and bigger shops offering you anything from sweet temptations like baklava to traditional proper size shoes or even a flamboyant looking wedding dress! At the furthest end stays the fruit and vegetables market - rich in any season fruit as well as cheap goods, replicas of famous world brands.
On of many mosques in Skopje, Mustafa Pasha mosque is one unique piece of decorative architecture and even more it is interesting with the dramatic story of the local ruler's daughter.
SKOPSKO KALE - the fortress is proudly standing somewhat above the city and typically gives us a good overview of the large flat area of Skopje and its surroundings. Not a lot has been preserved inside the fort, but it is still quite attractive to look up to even if didn't walk up there.
Travelers will enjoy free time exploring the area by themselves, guide will be able to provide information regarding the places around the area.

We were picked up promptly at 8 am at our hotel in Central Sofia. Our guide, Philip, is a native Bulgarian, fluent in English, and has many years of experience giving tours to various groups from all over the world. He's very knowledgeable about the areas, enthusiastic, pointing out interesting sites en route to Skopje. We were met by Dan in Skopje who is licensed in North Macedonia and gave us a walking tour before letting us explore the Turkish bazaar and other points of interest. The Holocaust museum is quite extensive, and we recommend a visit. There's a small museum with the history of native Nobel laureate Mother Theresa. Interesting mix of architecture and statuary and monuments. Very scenic city. Philip is an exceptional guide, excellent driver, very accommodating. Highly recommend this tour.
It was a great experience. Highly recommended. The driver was also a tour guide from the Bulgarian side and together with the guide in skopje, I learnt a lot about both Bulgarian and Macedonian history. Nothing negative and all positives about this tour.
It was a great experience, everything was on time and as planned. Both guides, the bulgarian and the Macedonian, were delightful. Only issue, was the wreckless driving. I don't know if it is a cultural thing, but we we'd prefer a more defensive way of driving. But it was great.
Dear Maria, Thank you very much for booking the tour to Skopje! Thank you for the good review and in the same time I'd like to apologize for the driving, and I certainly will make sure for the future to have a better driver. We wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New 2024!!
