Katerina welcomed us very warmly, and we immediately started chatting. Baking bread using grandmother's recipes was great (you weigh with your eyes😉). We not only learned a lot about baking, but also got to know the differences in olive oil. And then there was something delicious to eat. We were able to take the bread with us and could think back to it later. Katerina is a very lovely young woman, and you feel comfortable right away. I can absolutely recommend it.
We did this experience with our two teenagers, 13 and 15 and we all loved it!!! Katerina’s place was so adorable and she was the best host! We didn’t even like olives and had the best time! Truly such a memorable experience!! It includes lunch and is a really nice intimate experience. My hope when we go back she does a class on Greek deserts!
This class was as authentic and as personal as it gets. Katarina was extremely knowledgeable about all things olive oil. She effortlessly accommodated our daughters peanut allergy while she led us through her families recipes and traditions. She was so interested in us personally and gave us great recommendations for the rest of our trip. When the experience was over we felt like we were leaving a close friends house. This is her business that she built and she will be the one leading the class. Do yourself a favor and book this.
One of the highlights of our trip! The tasting was informative and engaging. We learned so much about how olive oil is produced, how to properly taste it, and what distinguishes high-quality olive oil from the rest. As well as, how to make really delicious breads! Katerina was so kind, knowledgeable, and passionate. We would highly recommend!
What an AMAZING morning! Katerina was just wonderful … so personal, kind, fun and sweet. From delicious food that she had prepared to learning about olive oil pressing to making our own bread from scratch to learning about her passion of cooking from her family history. We loved it all and DEFINITELY recommend this to anyone looking to do an olive oil/baking bread activity! Good for groups or couples!
This was an amazing memorable experience! Katerina was very kind and knowledgeable. She provided various Greek foods to try which were all homemade and delicious! We baked two breads while learning about olive oil. We learned a lot not only about the oil but also about the Greek culture. My family and I were very impressed, the experience far exceeded what we expected. I highly recommend this experience to everyone visiting Naxos!
This was excellent. Katerina was so knowledgeable and sweet. It included a fun history of olives and oil, tasting, bread baking, coffee, snacks, and lunch with dessert. So much food I’d recommend not eating before! She also provided great recommendations for the rest of our time here.
We highly recommend the Eggares experience. Nicoleta is a charming host, the fourth generation to oversee this special experience. Our tour leader, Katerina, conveyed the warm hospitality of Naxos and was enthusiastic about explaining traditional olive production. She told many lovely stories about her culture and made us laugh. We learned a lot about olive oil while having fun, baking bread and enjoying a delicious lunch with all local ingredients. While you can see a traditional olive press in many villages, you can only find Nicolette, Katerina, and Maya in Eggares. You will be glad you did.
Come hungry because there are all kinds of olive treats and olive oil and bread and jam and it was just a wonderful experience. We saw the old fashioned methods of making olive oil and learned a lot about the mechanism of olive farming. Katerina was an exceptionally good guide and come up with Nicolette, shared a morning of treats and stories. There were four of us and we agreed it was a great experience.
Katrina was absolutely fantastic! Very warm, knowledgeable, and engaging. The Olive Bread, oil, and food was so enjoyable.
