Itinerary
Meet your guide for your first dumpling stop of the day, a tasty fried bite from Fujian.
Explore the historic Lower East Side, learning how the area has became a part of Greater Chinatown.
Enter the basement of a nearly abandoned mall and sample pork buns from the city's best hidden gem eatery.
Learn the history of Chinatown as you stand in Kimlau Square, the neighborhood's heart.
Step onto one of New York's strangest looking streets to hear the origins of the nickname "The Bloody Angle" — and why that title isn't accurate to the street's history.
Visit your next dumpling stop of the day, indulging in Shanghai-style soup dumplings — complete with guide instruction about the best way to eat the brothy bites.
Visit the former home of the Five Points, New York's most infamous mafia hangout, and hear how resident-driven labor movements have reclaimed the area as a site of neighborhood resistance.
Visit your fourth dumpling stop of the day to try some Sichuan style dumplings, made with an extra spicy, numbing pepper.
Want more dumplings? Bring friends along! With bigger groups, we go to two more restaurants: a traditional Fujianese steamed dumpling house, and a bakery that specializes in delectable pumpkin buns.

We had an amazing time on Nick’s Dumpling Tour! Nick was incredibly knowledgeable about Chinatown, sharing fascinating history, cultural insights, and local stories throughout the tour. His passion for the neighborhood really made the experience special. The dumpling selection was fantastic, with a wide variety of flavors and styles from places we never would have discovered on our own. Without Nick’s guidance, we definitely would have missed some of these hidden gems. Every stop felt thoughtfully chosen, and it was clear he has strong relationships with the local businesses. If you’re looking for a fun, informative, and delicious way to explore Chinatown, I highly recommend this tour. Come hungry—you’ll leave full of great food and a much deeper appreciation for the neighborhood!
