  • Take an unforgettable day trip from Paris and visit the Beaches of Normandy where the outcome of WWII was changed for Europe! Join this small group tour of 8 persons max.

Itinerary

30 min

Omaha Beach was known to be the most difficult military objective when the invasion of Normandy was being planned. In order to be sure that the Allied forces took it the youngest and most foolhardy soldiers were assigned to it, most of them were American. You'll walk on the same sands as them and learn about their acts of heroism and sacrifice.

Admission included60 min

Operation Overlord was the code name given to the Allied Invasion of northwest Europe. This museum has an unequaled collection of military equipment that was used to either defend or attack the coast of Normandy. Such as a full-sized authentic Higgins boat, with its front flap down, and impressive Sherman and Panzer tanks.

45 min

This German Battery has a fully intact Command Bunker and 3 other bunkers that are still armed today. You'll climb inside the bunkers with your guide and find out what happened on the morning of D-day from the Axis perspective. Learning about Rommel's defenses known as the "Atlantic Wall".

Admission not included60 min

For lunch, you will stop at a mom-and-pop style restaurant such as the l'Hostéière. On the coast, there are no fancy restaurants. There are only little places with fresh local foods such as salads, omelets, barbecued meats, and crepes. We do not include your lunch in our tour price. You can pick whatever you want from the menu. Plan on spending 10-20€.

45 min

Pointe-du-Hoc was a strategic German defensive point and on D-day, it was a top priority to capture. Here you will walk around huge bomb craters to the edge of a 110ft tall, seaside cliff. Learn how Rudders Rangers climbed it with rocket-powered grappling hooks and their bayonets.

60 min

Here 9,388 white marble tombs stand in perfectly straight lines. You'll walk among the Crosses and Stars of David with your guide and pay your respects to those who sacrificed everything. You'll visit Medal of Honor winners and also the Niland brothers whose real-life story inspired the movie "Saving Private Ryan".

Admission included20 min

Before there was a war there were apple trees to tend in Normandy. The apple orchards in Normandy grow dozens of different varieties of apples and turn them into amazing apple juices, hard ciders, and strong liquor called Calvados. We'll stop at one of the local orchards and you'll get to taste some of Normandy’s famous Cider. We’ll pay for your tasting.

Clement was a wonderful guide! The day was long but it didn’t feel that way. We learned so much about Normandy and the sacrifices of those that fought there. A wonderful tour well worth the time and money!

Normandy review

I had a fantastic tour of Normandy today with Christopher M., and I cannot recommend it highly enough. The entire day was exceptional from start to finish. The American Cemetery was especially moving—beautifully maintained and such a profound, meaningful place to visit. Walking the beaches, exploring the bunkers, visiting the museum, enjoying a wonderful lunch, and participating in the cider tasting all made for an unforgettable experience. What really set this tour apart was Christopher’s incredible knowledge and passion for the history. He shared so many fascinating details throughout the day, pointing out monuments, landmarks, and historical sites that brought the events of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy to life in a powerful way. His enthusiasm and expertise made every stop even more meaningful. Thank you, Christopher, for such a wonderful and memorable day. This was truly one of the highlights of my trip, and I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Normandy.

Normandy Beaches and Mt St Michel from Bayeux

Visit to Normandy 04/07/26 to 04/09/26. We traveled from Paris by train to Bayeux, which is equidistant from the D-day Normandy beaches and Mount Saint Michel. We stayed in the Lion D’Or hotel, downtown Bayeux and a short distance from the train station. The hotel is located in an old mansion, the parking lot is in the cobblestoned previous stables. Charming, with somewhat dated furniture, no elevator. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The personnel very polite and helpful. Very conveniently situated to all that is interesting to visit in Bayeux The next morning our charming guide, Romain Bréget (frb.guide@gmail.com) arrived punctually at 9 am. The itinerary of the first day was a visit to Utah beach, followed by a visit to Saint Mere-Eglise. We were also taken to Pont du Hoc site of the most intense preparatory bombarments of the invasion and an almost unconquerable cliff with long range guns. Next was a visit to Omaha beach and finally we went to the American cemetery where the final emotional touch was the lowering of the flag and playing of Taps. There were no dry eyes in the many visitors congregated there. Throughout these visits our guide explained patiently and in a detailed manner all the historical events and not once did he rush us to get or do something faster. The itinerary of the next day was the visit to Mont Saint Michel, this a convent built in a granite promontory with a history that exceeds a millennium in which religion and the chaotic history of France are intertwined. Again, Romain excelled in the explanation of the evolution of the history and architecture of the abbey. An experience of a lifetime and one requiring training and good physical condition (330 stone-worn steps to the terrace of the abbey). We returned to Bayeux at about 5 pm The last day we went in a walking tour of Bayeux, where William the Conqueror started a career that made him King of England. Very interesting. The cathedral is a monument to many architectural styles. We returned to Paris by Train that evening. While we were on our own during the third day, it was the 2 previous days with Romain that made this trip truly memorable. His affable and down-to-earth demeanor, his passion for history and for this part of France, and his surprisingly good English made for an unforgettable experience. We would have certainly missed many interesting and important details if we had been on our own. We strongly recommend him for a small party private tour.

A perfect day to learn...

A perfect day to learn about and reflect upon the tremendous events of June 6, 1944. Our guide, Matthieu was incredibly knowledgeable and shared his passion throughout the full tour. The meeting spot was very well organized and the vehicle was comfortable. We had time at each stop to fully absorb the significance of D-Day with the American Cemetery truly an emotional landmark. Thanks Matthieu for a terrific day.

Worth every penny

In my opinion, this is the ONLY way to tour Normandy. Our family of four was put with a group of 3 adult friends traveling together. The advantage of a small group is an opportunity to engage thoroughly with the guide. We learned so much and traveling in a small van (vs. a large bus) allowed our guide to take us places others could not get to. As the weather shifted the guide also shifted us from a rainy beach to a dry indoor museum. When weather cleared we got back out to the beach sites. That type of flexibility only comes with a small tour like this.
