Horrible experience!!! Wasted $332 and was NEVER able to get on a single BigBus and they will not refund my money!! Total scam!! DO NOT RENT THROUGH HERE!! Absolutely horrible! Use TopView they were wonderful!
Our experience with Big Bus NYC was excellent. It is very well organized and the team made everything easy and stress-free. A special thank you to Wanda B., who went above and beyond to help us. She was incredibly kind and knowledgeable. Her outstanding customer service made all the difference. We highly recommend Big Bus NYC. Thank you, Wanda and team, for making our experience such a positive one!
This Hop on Hop Off Bus Tour was just perfect for what we were looking for, hitting lots of great spots, the commentary was entertaining and educating in a fun way!
We got turned around after stopping at the Empire State building and there was a bus at the site, it seemed like it was waiting for us to board.
Thank you for letting us know, and we're glad everything worked out in the end! We appreciate you taking the time to share this with us and hope you enjoyed the rest of your tour. Kind regards, BigBusTours@VladL
There is no tour guide on the Hop-On to explain the different attractions. They give you ear plugs which you couldn't hear anything except static. I was on here back in 2004 and it was a great experience. 2026 I came with my husband and it was a huge disappointment.
Hello! Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations, especially compared to your previous tour with us. We understand how disappointing it must have been to have issues with the audio commentary, as it's an important part of the sightseeing experience. If you'd like us to look into this further, please contact our Customer Service team via Live Chat or email through our https://www.bigbustours.com/contact-us. We'd be happy to review your experience in more detail. Thank you for sharing your comments with us. Daniel@BigBusTours
Would prefer to give a zero star but would not let me, I booked the hop on hop off bus got on it went 4 stops got off it explored, returned to same stop the bus driver refused to stop for me to let me on then I went to anther stop and was refused to be let on this bus the driver just drove past. This is clearly a CON and I contacted Viator about this but was basically fobbed off da they stated the bus operator has refused a refund they are obviously going to refuse a refund. I still am demanding a refund or my Viator account credited with the amount spent
Hi, Pablo, Thank you for sharing your feedback. I am very sorry to learn about your experience and the frustration caused by buses passing your stop without picking you up. We completely understand how upsetting this must have been during your tour. Please note that our buses are intended to stop at all designated locations whenever passengers are waiting. However, during peak hours, a bus may occasionally be unable to board new passengers if it has reached its maximum safe capacity or if traffic conditions prevent a safe pull-in. For further assistance regarding your query, please contact our Customer Service team directly through our website at bigbustours.com/contact-us, ensuring you provide all relevant details of your journey. Thank you for your understanding. Best regards, Mihaela@BigBusToursTeam
Unfortunately we didn’t get to hop on the whole day, just one time in the morning and when we were trying to hop on the buses didn’t stop on the bus stop and the bus sign said “bus drop off and pick up” but the buses ignored us so we ended getting an UBER, and we spend $ basically for nothing.
I found it to be unorganized, some of the buses didn’t have working air or fans inside which was unbearable while sitting in traffic for long periods of time. Another issue was that the audio wasn’t always working, so in addition to not learning anything about the sights, we didn’t know where we were in the route or the distance to the next stop. I’ve used a service like this in Key West and it was great but, I would just as well take the subway in New York.
Hi Susan_Z, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear your experience was affected by the air conditioning, audio, and route information issues. That’s certainly not the standard we aim for, and we understand how frustrating it must have been—especially while sitting in traffic. We appreciate you letting us know, and your comments will be shared with the local team for review. Alexandra I. @ Big Bus Tours Team
Booked on a Sunday morning to see as much of NY as I can in as short a time as possible. I booked a 24-hour ticket and got to use the morning the following day to go around the route again. I have not visited the city for approximately 10 years, and I wanted to see what I could while taking the weight off my feet and sis just that. The recorded tour, which they provided headphones for at times, seemed a bit out of sync, but it didn't bother me so much. Maybe because I'm familiar with the city, if I can imagine it being frustrating if I were visiting as a first-timer. Open top bus the first thing that needs to be on point was the weather; absolutely glorious. The staff were pleasant and friendly warm and welcoming like the weather. I truly enjoyed it. The first day I just rode the loop. The second day I was on a guest to find Ladder 8 Ghostbusters HQ so I rode it downtown to Canal St and went to Tribeca to see it in its glory and took the subway back to area I boarded in Times Square. It was $52 dollars with a discount. It served me.
When registering with this company, you also have to be sure to download the website so that you get critical information, such as how long it takes for a bus to arrive at the loading/drop off points. That information is not shared after your registration is confirmed on the website. If it was on the website it was not obvious or easy to locate. They do share the points of interest but no information was shared as to how to look for their signage when hopping back on a bus or when the next bus would show up for a hop-on so you could plan your journey accordingly. In addition, there were not enough buses to accommodate the number of people who had registered. We hopped off at the ferry. When we hopped back on to complete our tour there were no seats left on the bus and so we completed our tour standing. It was difficult to enjoy the tour because we were not in a position to plug in our headphones. Not only was it standing room only, but at each new stop, not enough people were leaving the bus and new people were allowed to board. The bus was packed with riders. This made the remainder of our tour miserable.
Hello, Judy! Thank you for your detailed feedback. We're sorry to hear that the information about bus arrivals and boarding points was not clear, and that overcrowding made the second part of your tour uncomfortable. We understand how disappointing it must have been to complete the tour standing and without being able to fully enjoy the audio commentary. Your comments have been shared with our team as we work to improve our communication and capacity planning. Daniel@BigBusTours
