I give the experience a 5 even though it started out closer to a 2 because of the absolute chaos trying to figure out where to line up at the beginning. It’s odd they haven’t figured out a more orderly way for people to know where to line up before the gates open. Other than this, once on the Natchez we were seated for the buffet at 6 pm. Usually I’m not a fan of buffets, but this one was quite good. There were plenty of choices - seafood pasta, red beans and rice, fried chicken, roast beef etc all quite good. We were “kicked out” after an hour to make way for the next dinner seating. By now the best seats near the band were taken, as well as seats on the port side. We found seats on the starboard side, but as the Natchez heads upstream the captain is narrating about the sights on the PORT side of the ship so we missed all that stuff. As the Natchez returns to its dock, the New Orleans skyline is beautiful to see and makes the tour worth it just for this.
the narration was very informative and entertaining and the food was much better than I thought it would be it was very delicious. it was an awesome relaxing Cruise on the Mississippi and the music was great
Dukes of Dixieland were very good and played 2 sets on our tour. Sightseeing was nice, but got better when dark. The bridge lit up in red was very cool. We found that you don't need to show up at 5:45 and sit in the heat. The boat didn't leave till 7. 6:30 would have been fine, if you don't add the dinner.
The food was pretty good. Several bars. The music was pretty decent if you like jazz. I think it’s more about the experience riding on a river boat. It’s worth it in my opinion.
It was so hot but we enjoyed the tour. Our guide was Zelda. She was excellent and kept us entertained with her knowledge and humor
The Boat Cruse was wonderful. Band was great. The Staff was very Friendly and helpful. Do the cruse but not the Dinner. The Dinner was Bland and the Meat very Tough. Dinner was not even close for the cost. The Steam Organ while waiting was very Cool but so loud it Hurt. So Many people in line holding there ears. I am hard of Hearing and it hurt.
We had a great time and enjoy all scenery and food.will do it again and recommend to family and friends
Narration and view of the Mississippi River was great, as was the live jazz band. However, both me and my boyfriend experienced food poisoning from the dinner. Would recommend booking without the option for dinner.
It was an awful and disappointing time from the start. They were not ready to receive a large group. We were there for our family reunion a group of 65. They had our numbers incorrect and wanted us to pay for people we already paid for 😠. Although we were there earlier and confirmed our numbers several times weeks before the cruise it still took extensive discussions and time at the steamboat cruise getting our paid Viator confirmed numbers correct and they had to print tickets for each person in my group and also for the babies under 6 months. The communication and coordination between the cruise line and the third party (Greylines) provider was poor, confusing and unorganized. Very disappointing 😞. Many family member only had about 10 minutes to eat from the buffet in the dinning room 😕. Diffently not worth the high dinner price. We paid over $5500 for 62 not including 3 babies under 6 months.
