Nelson's Green Brier Distillery Guided Tour with Tastings

Description
Digging into the past didn’t turn up skeletons and scandals for brothers Andy and Charlie Nelson; more like sour mash and stills. After discovering their triple great grandfather was one of the most successful whiskey distillers in pre-prohibition America, the brothers vowed to revive the since-forgotten family business. If you’re into sunken ships and lost gold, a woman running a distillery before women could vote and the rebirth of a Nashville business after 100 years, you’ll be sucked into this story. Sample gold medal award-winning Nelson’s Green Brier Tennessee Whiskey, the spirit based on the wheated mash bill recipe for Tennessee’s oldest whiskey and mellowed in a sugar maple charcoal bed. Taste the perfected blends of two, modern-day, straight bourbon whiskeys crafted by the Nelson Brothers, and finish your tasting with strong and sweet Louisa’s coffee caramel pecan liqueur.

Must do distillery. Even better because it's near Downtown
First ever tour of a distillery and it did not disappoint. Mainly due to the wonderful and knowledgeable staff. Out guide Sophia was excellent and very funny. Would recommend this for sure.
I was very pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the tour. Our guide Darrin was informative and entertaining at the same time. The distillery has a really interesting history, and that alone made me appreciate the product. The tasting was really fun. Darrin taught us the proper way to drink whiskey. I’ve never been a big whiskey person, but I’ll def use my new skills to give it a go more often. The 4 we sampled were really good and all very different which was not something I knew was a thing. I thought whiskey was whiskey. Pro-tip - book the 3pm tour or earlier because the bar’s last call for cocktails is at 5pm. We did the 4om tour so when it finished at 5pm I didn’t get a chance to try the espresso martini that I’ve heard a lot about. You can still order whiskey until 6pm though. PS - the restaurant looks fun. I’d def go back to try that (and an espresso martini)!
Jacob made our tour VERY interesting! He was very knowledgeable on the history and their product . Very evident that he loves what he’s doing. Beautiful distillery, restaurant and bar area. Very classy! Enjoyed great appetizers and drinks after our tour. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Nashville area.
We had an excellent experience at the distillery. Our tour guide, Jacob, was so enthusiastic and passionate, and you could tell how much he enjoys talking about the history of Nelson’s and the art of making Tennessee whisky. The tasting was also fantastic with Jacob really taking the time to talk through each whisky and how to get the most out of the tasting. We booked the last tour of the day and it did run over, meaning the staff were working late at that point, but at no point did we feel hurried or rushed, and the team allowed us as much time as we needed to look around the gift shop and make a purchase. Time very well spent!
Thank you so much for spending time with us and leaving such a great review! Were so glad you enjoyed the whiskey tasting and your tour with Jacob! We'll be sure to pass along your kind words. Can't wait to have you back soon. Cheers!
We had such an amazing tour with Chris! We learned so much about whiskey, Tennessee, and the distillery and Chris was very engaging and knowledgeable. The tasting at the end was lovely and we learned so much! Also I love that this business supports the queer community - they had pride flags and merch for sale and other pride decorations. I love ferling supported and seen by local businesses!
Thank you so much for your thoughtful review. We're so happy you enjoyed your tour with Chris and learned something new about the history and process of making Tennessee Whiskey! We'll be sure to pass on your kind words to him. We're so glad to hear that you felt safe and seen while spending time with us. We love the LGBTQ+ community, and receiving feedback like yours means so much to us. We hope to have you back soon!
Interesting tour, good Bourbon, and great food at the restaurant. The staff was kind and welcoming, starting with Leigh Ann who offered a friendly greeting and helpful information. Our tour guide Zach was knowledgeable and friendly. The food at the restaurant was unexpectedly good. My friend and I just ordered a few starters to share before a tour, but the onion soup was among the best I've had in a very long time. But, a word of caution - beware the "cold fashioned" slushy at the bar. I'm not saying to avoid it by any means. Quite the contrary! Just know that, while it tastes great and is refreshing, it packs a kick that might leave your head throbbing later in the day (especially after a tasting flight)!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We're so happy to hear you enjoyed every part of your experience with us, even with the kick from the cold fashioned! We can't wait to have you back. Cheers!
Took an afternoon tour with the family while visiting Nashville. Chris, our guide, was great and did a great job explaining the history behind the distillery.
Thank you so much for spending time with us and leaving a great review! We're glad you enjoyed your tour with Chris and we hope to have you back soon. Cheers!
What a fascinating tour. Chris was our tour guide and his extensive knowledge of making and tasting whiskey was awesome. The back history of the distillery was so interesting. It was 1.5 hours of entertainment plus a flight of 4 different whiskeys for $25. The four of us found the tasting especially interesting and we are not drinkers! All the staff were extremely friendly and building is beautiful inside and out. Highly recommend this tour.
Thank you so much for this thoughtful review! We're so happy Chris was able to make your trip memorable and that you enjoyed our facility and the whiskey! We can't wait to have you back for another great visit. Cheers!
